  1. Toolcraft in CT still stocks Metabo but its very expensive and not the same quality anymore. I have a belt sander and electric plane from Ryobi industrial that are about 15-20 years old, those things are built just as strong as any of the big brands but not sold in SA anymore.
  2. I want that cordless palm router! Also wouldnt mind the cordless random orbital sander. That is the thing, you can get the Makita versions locally, cant get the Bosch or any other brand unfortunately.
  3. I wouldnt go that route if it was me, its just personal but once you get chargers and batteries you end up stuck in that ecosystem. Dewalt has almost no presence in SA so its not really worth it. Honestly if I was spending that money it would be Makita and nothing but Makita.
  4. I would buy Ingco before Ryobi, they actually arent bad for the price and their cordless range is growing really fast. Ideally its between Bosch blue and Makita in SA, as Carrera mentioned the Makita range of tools is quite a bit bigger than Bosch but there are tons of Bosch service centers around so that is a plus for them. Im still trying to decide between the two brands!
  5. That looks really good, I love the French cleat idea for mounting it.
  6. No one would accept level 5 happening again. There would be riots.
  7. I made a backing board for my house number on the outside wall using that technique. Its about the size of an A4 sheet of paper and around 80% wood 20% resin. It used 1.5l and cost about R350 for the resin alone! It was meant to be a test piece for a desk top I was going to make, but after I looked at the cost it wasnt really worth it.
  8. Free State in SA would be the easiest, just leave the board exactly as it is
  9. The first pic would benefit from having a dark resin poured into the grooves and then sanded back, it creates a really nice effect. Frank Howarth has a great video on doing pretty much the same as your second pic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0A03jskWVg You could probably do what you are looking at quite easily with something like a x-carve which isnt overly expensive.
  10. Honestly I dont know how you and your wife have been so strong. To have that amount of mental stress for so long can wear anyone down. You are doing so well, showing that you are a strong fighter and a true champion!
  11. @Slowbee this vid should give you some ideas on how the main 4 DJI drones handle wind. Its simulated with a leaf blower but its pretty telling. @Tankman not sure if you have seen this one yet? Its got some really great detail and examples of the video/still quality. I badly want one now! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oj1AooawQ5o
  12. Yeah look, over the last 2 months the budget I had for a drone has been eaten away to nothing. So its going to be a while before I get one, the air2 was what I was waiting for though, it ticks all of the boxes. Range, reliability, good camera, obstacle avoidance and good software. It does all of those really well.
  13. I love the quality of your vids, I cant wait to see what happens when you get the air2.
  14. Same deal here, its the exact reason I didnt go for the mini. We get a handful of days each year without wind! DC rainmaker did a test with the air2 in stupidly windy conditions and it wasnt at any risk of being blown away. I had a good chuckle watching one of the drone youtubers I follow. He did a "how not to lose your mini" video. Two videos later he had a search and rescue video after his mini got blown away
  15. Brilliant idea! Its most likely better than the Chinese metal ones I have, those all required a lot of filing to get them square.
  16. It doesnt... Google mavic mini flyaway Even the really experienced drone reviewers I watch on youtube that give tips on what to do if its being blown away dont always win. I have seen more than one lose their mini due to wind.
  17. No it doesnt do the offsets but you can code them in, I havent really had a need to do that. With the silent board they removed the manual leveling option from the stock firmware. So that meant you had to disable steppers and then move the hotend around to use a piece of paper to check. The hassle comes in that the table will drop at some stage then you dont know where you started. If you enable manual mesh leveling in TH3D then it moves the hotend to a bunch of spots on the bed and you just level accordingly, its so much more accurate that way.
  18. SD cards definitely fail! I replaced the one that came with the printer quickly because it sucked. I also setup Octoprint but it doesnt play well with the silent board and I had endless problems with failed prints when using it.
  19. Yeah the V1.1.4 and V1.1.5 are the same thing, both have TMC2208 drivers. It does have the bootloader flashed so its as easy as connecting a mini usb cable to it and running the bundled arduino studio. You just need to find the mesh leveling option and enable it. It will make all of the difference in bed leveling because it moves the head to the correct locations to do the paper test. You cant really use Marlin on those boards because they dont have enough memory but TH3D is a fork of Marlin.
  20. Yup the cooling fans are the only sound you hear on that. My advice would be to upgrade the firmware to TH3D and enable the mesh leveling option. It makes it a whole lot easier to level the bed and it moves the head to the correct place without needing to disable the steppers and having the bed drop.
  21. Yeah the 5 is nice and solid. Did you get the one with the silent drivers?
  22. Except with cheese you arent killing a living creature.
  23. I dont think that would even work for the pine ones. Heck my 2HP 16" bandsaw cant even resaw them.
  24. Or alternatively get some of those blue bulls balls to dangle from the seat. No one will even want to look in the direction of the bike so problem solved.

    RIFLE

Yeah it does, I fired off many many rounds with one of those in school, back when it was still a sport.
