  1. Are the same groups still just as fast/slow post lock down and COVID etc as before? the pro groups seems to be just as fast but us in the alphabet soup I am not sure where I fit in... maybe I should do another race just to see where I fit I suppose.
  2. So I entered an event for the first time in about 3years -this one. Lazy? - probably and other things. So my question is to those whom have continued through lockdown and etc. - has racing and events changed? Has the groups and the way people ride changed? Mtb has always been a solo thing so that is probably still the same as always but the road rides are they better or worse? Are there more experienced and disciplined riders in the slower groups and are the groups still at the same levels they where before or is B the new A or D the new F...
  3. Good show by Meintjies. Not bad at all.
  4. Kean bikes has lotsa options also.
  5. UNFORTUNATELY F1 is covered by the BBC which is British, whom have employed Brittish has-beens and ex-merc drivers still enjoying merc royalties to present and be their experts. ....so biased to a 7 time undeserved world champion? whom always had the FIA in one pocket and driving the very best equipment on the grid? whom have thus actually been undeservedly knighted by the queen for his whatever they think he did so brilliantly???.... never... why would the BBC and its employees ever be biased and not side with the hero of F1 and the greatest driver ever to grace the grid???
  6. What does bother me is when some of these traders unknowing to you begs and cries about please helping them and if you please can hold something etc or begs for discount with some sorry story and then since it is not a huge issue about the bit off the price or meeting halfway to nowhere you agree AND THEN they sell for a higher price the next day. Second issue is these resellers or bikeshops that sell items on here and state the condition as "hardly used" or similar lies and when you get the stuff it is in much worse condition than you expected and they are adamant the condition is how they stated. Frankly most of these have been too little value to have made huge difference about making a huge fuss or court issues etc. - schoolfees. Is the same reason I do not negotiate anymore than I feel like or not at all and further more you pay for shipping or collect and frankly I dont buy from these resellers once they re-sell items. I could name a few very famous ones on here but these days you then could have a loss of income lawsuit on your hands...
  7. BAH!! bloody heavy 25g bottle cage... Carbonworks 8g or Tune 11g ???? why carry all that extra weight?
  8. Amen... not saying Shimano is the solution either but SRAM brakes suck no matter what model.
  9. Just one teaspoon... ????
  10. I think the Blur lost all appeal - No VPP - no thanks... Will keep my Blur 3 CC. Twice the bike and not at the current Covid inflated prices.
  11. ???? And you are either a fanboy that is okay with ANY doping or you are a hater that believes all the rules are being horribly broken.????
  12. Look I think he is very meticulously gauging his efforts - if he was giving it B@LLS you would see it in ITT as he is usually soaked and looks like that dude from 0% bodyfat. Froome is slowly building and strengthening - the dude clearly loves the tech and knows exactly what is happening in his body and his efforts - remember how he was deemed some sort of robot or skybot or whatever the haters want to call it... he knows exactly what he is doing.
  13. Yes but the Vittoria combo is not far off the weight and they are more grippy what my experience has been - far more trail than XC Vittoria 2.35 combo in the region of 740g for Barzo and 760g for the Mezcal.
  14. I have 33mm OD 27mm ID running 2.35 perfect. If I had only 25 or 30mm id to pick from I would consider also whether the weight matters as generally the 30mm ID wheelsets end up almost 200g more but support the tyre much better and allows slightly lower pressures. If weight does not matter for you in this situation then 30mm definately. My 27mm weigh what 25mm weighs but supports like a 30mm. Well it is close... 5c
  15. ummmm just a question but wont the shimano DA disks perform better? especially with heat - I thought they would be superior. I know you got to run what your sponsors tell you but when you have DA groupset surely...
  16. Be carefull of this one also... he can also get some legal eagle and sue for damage caused to business through your naming and shaming. Make sure all details are fact and ample proof is provided of all statements...
  17. My new trail ripper Blur CC 10.9kg as it sits - with 120mm Fox34 factory goodness, 2.35 tires on wide carbon rims - A trail bike that gives XC the finger. The 100mm rear travel almost does not matter. Plans for the same capability @ 10.4kg in the works with a 34 stepcast fork and a lighter dropper than the one on it plus some other goodies..

  19. doubt it will be that line - counted 5 GC contender riders with who as lead??? I think that line is the possible leaders they may or may not use depending on form.
  20. Looks like they copied a lot from my SC Blur... especially the first few photos and the colour... Would still rather ride my Blur but these are OK
  21. Inflating a new tubeless tyre to 3.5bar so it stretches to full capacity and expands nicely - cool idea - sit them outside in the sun for the afternoon to ensure full expansion - cool idea. that's where I should have left it but noooooo. Pump till over 4bar. and park in the same room where I am sitting working - next moment - 3hours later - BANG!!!! ears ringing, sealant on the roof, the cupboard, the lcd on the wall, across my table, floor, bike etc. Looked like a very hectic night was had by more than just 2 people... checked the tyre etc - all fine. Refitted and inflated and topped up sealant - all good and been riding for the last 600km no further issue...
  22. Seems poor Louis is getting drafted to all the teams needing him for his points not results - not sure they are really interested in developing his ability as he hasn't shown much in years...
  23. Louis Louis Louis... I feel for the guy - he is still struggeling with form/confidence or matching the other riders. Yes we do expect him to rub elbows with the best at the front but right now I don't know if he will be drafted to do some super domestic or just regular team work...
  24. Are you buying wheels or hubs also? Depending what wheel you have (if you just want to convert a current set) you may or may not even get the freehub you want or need. 1. Make sure which freehub is available to your wheels (skip if you are buying whichever hubs or wheels) 2. decide on your brand of preference. 3. ride it. generally shimano is cheaper than SRAM in the same tier/level. That is not entirely true. I would not use a sram shifter with a shimano rear derailleur or the other way around - the indexing may be completely different - so I would confirm this first. same goes for cassette and chain combos. It would be bad advise to mix and match if you don't absolutely have to and could be a costly trial and error session with less than ideal shifting performance etc. If you are buying everything new then just get all the same.
  25. Re measured my new 2.35 Barzo and Mezcal they now measure 62.5mm on the 29mm ID rims @ 1.55bar front and 1.7bar rear. I did the 3.5bar over night and put the wheels in the lovely sunshine all day yesterday as to get max casing volume. Since I have swopped to a more XC type downcountry bike I wanted max cush from the rubber.
