When we were building the airbase in the bush in Botswana,the Main Contractor had to supply an old plane as part of the commando training facility.They bought an old 707 in Nairobi.Hired some engines and a pilot and flew the thing to the airbase.The consultants loaded it full of crates of Tusker and White Cap beer and when it arrived we had a moerova party.
I am surrounded by generators. At least we have water.I can always light a gas stove or a candle but when I cant flush the loo its a big problem.My week long experience without water in winter was pretty sobering. I do believe there is a big clean out coming in Escom etc but its going to take a number of years to fix..maybe even 5.So its bite the bullet or move back into Africa
