  1. Why is there so much tension amongst you Cape riders, what's with the negative comments about everyone's riding? You sound like a bunch of jealous Sandton chicks fighting over shoes or something..
  2. Not sure about the barriers but usually you can see the Finish Line Marquee from a distance and you kinda know you have to position yourself in the peloton to go through that gap. Sure people try their luck and end up hitting a barrier every now and then but I have never seen cones placed like that in a European race to warn the riders of the barriers? Maybe this scenario is different but personally I would have taken those cones away. I don't have a solution but my point is just that when you are riding in a group and you are going fast, nobody points out the cones and it is immanent that someone is gonna hit one or two like we had yesterday.
  3. I have been in two races where I hit the cones hard. (Kremetart 4th Stage, Tshwane Mayoral Ride) The thing is you don't see them if people in the front don't indicate. You only see them after you hit them and then it is too late .
  4. Me, Levi and MWNN almost missed our bunch, we were fooling around waaaaay at the back of the start and had a bit of work to do to get into the bunch..not sure who it was but I think the Orange boys attacked from the gun :-P It was a dumb race lol! A good warm down after Saturday's battle though, but that is all it was. Tandems, kamakazi's, single riders, fun riders, uber fun riders (the A bunch of course), mountain bikers (Why no mud hole for you guys?) all over the show. No wonder all the crashes.. Some official dude on a bike neutralized our race at the end due to a crash at the finish line apparently, but when we got there, there was no crash? Either way not worth sprinting for the line in this race. Shout outs to Jason (Sweet Ride with Elites), TCS Tandem (Winner Mixed), Cruxie and everyone in TCS! Also to all the other peeps I spotted there Zaskar, Tazman, Daniel.
  5. I did it last year and it was awesome! A must do! I want to do it again next year but I need to find a buddy first. Hopefully someone in TCS would be keen to join me.

  11. Drive through Friday night, kip at my dad's place.. do the race Saturday, chow something and drive back in time for the Bakwena on Sunday Welcome to join, three bikes in a Corsa could become a problem though.
  12. I am going to do it this weekend Spoke to Levi and he is also potentially keen. What about you Spinnekop?
  13. I have got the details, what would you like to know ? Meropa Cycle Challenge (Casino) Sat 11 November 95km/60km/12km If you want further info PM Earlyrider for info, he is from Polokwane. I think my dad forwarded me one of the organizers contact numbers. If you want it I can go dig for it.
  14. Awesome! I did not watch the show but good to get something like this out of the race, having been messed around at the prize giving! Go TCS!!
  15. I reckon the licensed riders are much better, the open riders are a bunch of wheel suckers With of course the exception of a few. But generally the guys in the open groups just go with the flow where as the licensed riders are following dedicated training programs, diets, power meter kung-foo guru's . I think you will have a better contest if you put the lic Vets up against the lic Elites.
  16. With "DNA" testing currently being a hot topic amongst the pro European cyclists - I was wondering how is DNA testing different from the blood/urine tests currently being performed? What is the major difference? Is it more accurate or what is all the fuss about?
  17. whoop! AL1022 I will be doing a race in Polokwane the day before, not yet decided if I want to drive back and also do the Bakwena.
  18. I was thinking, maybe start with the cyclelab dudes from cyclelab saturday morning. Then hit magaliesburg, maybe a trippie up and around hekpoort and the magaliesburg area then hit it back home to cyclelab. Second option is to speak to the other guys i usually ride with to see what they are doing. I will see them tomorrow morning and see.
