  7. Drive through Friday night, kip at my dad's place.. do the race Saturday, chow something and drive back in time for the Bakwena on Sunday Welcome to join, three bikes in a Corsa could become a problem though.
  8. I am going to do it this weekend Spoke to Levi and he is also potentially keen. What about you Spinnekop?
  9. I have got the details, what would you like to know ? Meropa Cycle Challenge (Casino) Sat 11 November 95km/60km/12km If you want further info PM Earlyrider for info, he is from Polokwane. I think my dad forwarded me one of the organizers contact numbers. If you want it I can go dig for it.
  10. Awesome! I did not watch the show but good to get something like this out of the race, having been messed around at the prize giving! Go TCS!!
  11. I reckon the licensed riders are much better, the open riders are a bunch of wheel suckers With of course the exception of a few. But generally the guys in the open groups just go with the flow where as the licensed riders are following dedicated training programs, diets, power meter kung-foo guru's . I think you will have a better contest if you put the lic Vets up against the lic Elites.
  12. With "DNA" testing currently being a hot topic amongst the pro European cyclists - I was wondering how is DNA testing different from the blood/urine tests currently being performed? What is the major difference? Is it more accurate or what is all the fuss about?
  13. whoop! AL1022 I will be doing a race in Polokwane the day before, not yet decided if I want to drive back and also do the Bakwena.
  14. I was thinking, maybe start with the cyclelab dudes from cyclelab saturday morning. Then hit magaliesburg, maybe a trippie up and around hekpoort and the magaliesburg area then hit it back home to cyclelab. Second option is to speak to the other guys i usually ride with to see what they are doing. I will see them tomorrow morning and see.
  15. Anyone up for a long ride until you bonk this weekend? Maybe on Saturday? Then on Sunday the Midvaal race and a lap at Suikerbossie? Anyone keen?
  16. I am not exactly sure when I am going to take leave as I am quite busy at work at the moment. Maybe I will go to Knysna middle of December until next year sometime and train by myself or maybe to the Durbs area as there is a mutual interest to get to know someone a bit better

  18. What is your vote ?, I reckon Discovery but not for long... From ivanbasso.net Ivan Basso hopes that he will have the opportunity to return to Team CSC in the future. ?Bjarne and I parted as friends,? the former Team CSC star states in a recent interview with Danish daily Politiken. ?And I hope that I will be able to return. We concluded that it would be best to part for the moment, but there is nothing that rules out that we may pick up our cooperation at a latter date.? Ivan Basso also expresses understanding for the conduct of Bjarne Riis over the past couple of months. ?I do not believe that Bjarne wanted to treat me poorly. He was forced to act as he had done. I know and understand that he has the well-being of the whole team to think off,? Basso comments. Basso admits that right after the suspension from the Tour de France, he felt very unfairly treated. ?I feel that at the very least we (the riders accused) should have had the chance to let our lawyers review the case, before a decision of such significance for a rider be taken.? Ivan Basso confirmed that he is still looking for a team, although he noted that if he were only interested in money, he would already have signed a contract. However, he is delaying the decision while studying the circumstances of the various teams he is considering. Giovanni Lombardi, Basso?s teammate at Team CSC who is retiring after this season, has confirmed that he intends to start working as an rider agent in the future. Among the riders that he is likely to be representing are, in addition to Ivan Basso, also Franck and Andy Schleck. epoh2006-10-24 23:41:38
  19. Sorry to hear that, I thought I saw SP coming in, it was obviously someone else. All the best and a speedy recovery! there was a crash in the A bunch as well. Some dumbass dude did not keep his line and crossed another rider and took a few riders down. Not sure if it was serious as I was near the front of the bunch when it happened.
