  6. Amoryn, ek gaan Jaco se program doen volgende jaar! Wou net bietjie van 'n basis opgebou het die jaar om dat ek niks het nie . Net gery omdat ry, ry is en nie LT's, SLT's KT's. ST's etc. en whatever daai goed is wat julle doen geoefen nie.. maar sal volgende jaar by die LT's, SLT's KT's. ST's etc. uitkom . Sal cool wees om explosive krag op te bou en dit saam met die endurance te mix volgende jaar .

  9. Last night I went to pick up my number for the 94.7 and I read out my number to the lady and she went to get it and ask me "Where is you license?" I gave her my driver's license lol! and she was like uh! "No a license for cycling" and I was like "no I only have one for driving"..and she was like "uhh.. sorry you need a license for cycling".. I tuned her "why did they seed me there if they know I don't have a license?.. she was like "uhh I dont know" she took that number the license oaks attach to their bikes and said I can start in A Open.. wheehee!! Dorks!!! Back to where I belong Let's give them the knock on Sunday Levi!!

  12. Heh! Muscle memory stay in your legs for a long time I have noticed.. some of the more experienced cyclist will be able to tell you this. If Phen for example don't train for 3 months (probably even more) he will still beat me I reckon Michael has got a decent base and it wont take him long to regain his fitness.

I have got a questions - As cyclists we often during hard training rides and races take in HI GI carbs in the form of energy drinks, gu's, gels etc..and also eat a lot of carbs to keep us fueled for the next day. Do all this stuff not eventually cause insulin resistance resulting in you potentially a risk factor for diabetes? My concern is that almost everyday I see an article that warns against diabetes and it seems like one of the culprits for causing diabetes (not sure what type) are all these refined sugars . Does anyone have any knowledge on this subject or know where I can read more ? I am specifically looking for some research done on cyclists/endurance athletes.   14. After reviewing all the photo's and comments I think it was inevitable that someone was going to hit something. The design at the finish was flawed from the start. I just hope they do something different next year. That's me on this thread
  15. From Ryan Cox's website - www.ryancox.co.za Something needs to be done.... Like us riders need to follow rules so do race organisers. The traffic is more than enough to handle, never mind the dangerous finishes that race organisers need to change. On Sunday there was a huge crash resulting in 2 of my Team Mates crashing really hard in a huge bunch pile up and Bonomi our Italian sprinter breaking his hand. It is not acceptable that we should risk our lives with bad race organisation. There were beacons on the one side of the rode where we raced right into and one rider going straight into one just caused chaos. There should be rules that organisers need to follow, especialy in the final km where we race at over 60km/h. If no one is laying down these rules nothing will change. So I call for Cycling SA to set up rules and keep the standard, or else something more serious could happen...
  16. Jason, the winning time for the Telkom Satellite Classic was just over 44km/h if i remember correctly.
  17. Why is there so much tension amongst you Cape riders, what's with the negative comments about everyone's riding? You sound like a bunch of jealous Sandton chicks fighting over shoes or something..
  18. Not sure about the barriers but usually you can see the Finish Line Marquee from a distance and you kinda know you have to position yourself in the peloton to go through that gap. Sure people try their luck and end up hitting a barrier every now and then but I have never seen cones placed like that in a European race to warn the riders of the barriers? Maybe this scenario is different but personally I would have taken those cones away. I don't have a solution but my point is just that when you are riding in a group and you are going fast, nobody points out the cones and it is immanent that someone is gonna hit one or two like we had yesterday.
  19. I have been in two races where I hit the cones hard. (Kremetart 4th Stage, Tshwane Mayoral Ride) The thing is you don't see them if people in the front don't indicate. You only see them after you hit them and then it is too late .

Me, Levi and MWNN almost missed our bunch, we were fooling around waaaaay at the back of the start and had a bit of work to do to get into the bunch..not sure who it was but I think the Orange boys attacked from the gun :-P It was a dumb race lol! A good warm down after Saturday's battle though, but that is all it was. Tandems, kamakazi's, single riders, fun riders, uber fun riders (the A bunch of course), mountain bikers (Why no mud hole for you guys?) all over the show. No wonder all the crashes.. Some official dude on a bike neutralized our race at the end due to a crash at the finish line apparently, but when we got there, there was no crash? Either way not worth sprinting for the line in this race. Shout outs to Jason (Sweet Ride with Elites), TCS Tandem (Winner Mixed), Cruxie and everyone in TCS! Also to all the other peeps I spotted there Zaskar, Tazman, Daniel.
