Wouldn't fit in my budget, nor my PC case... Given that the price for the muuuuuuch cheaper 3070 is still over R10k, this will probably go close to R40k. NAH!
  3. Apparently all it takes to be tarred and feathered on a Friday is to not read the T&Cs, and politely ask a question.
  4. I wonder how much fun it is discussing with the bike manufacturers exactly how many stars their pride-and-joy faster-than-anything-before should have on Zwift
  5. Odd that they haven't added Merida, or a few others for that matter, with almost every team having done group rides on Zwift in the last few months, plus of course the vTour.
  6. I think it is probably down to how you apply the power? In ERG mode I just stay seated, only cadence adjusting depending on the interval. On the road, a jump from 200W to say 400W would probably mean you drop a gear, get out of the saddle, and hammer a bit to respond to the attack or whatever. Just a guess. I rode on the trainer every day from 29 March to 31 Jul, and I didn't forget how to ride outside (in fact, 1 Aug was the most enjoyable ride EVER! even though I've ridden that same route hundreds of times before). But I can imagine a situation where someone too used to ERG can get caught out in the wrong gear on a climb, for example
  7. I could be wrong, but I think the drafting on Rouvy is currently only enabled on specific races.
  8. I used to think that too. Then I tried the Four Horsemen route in an event, with my lowest gear being a 39x27. My legs went on strike somewhere on Alpe de Zwift. With my current bike (52-36 and 11-30) I could go back to 100‰ always. Meh
  9. About 70kg. But even at or above my FTP you were still pulling away My dad joined tonight, and managed 3rd - lockdown and my old Tacx Vortex has done him good! Next week is the start of another SSAT series on Zwift, but I'll join hub rides on Rouvy where I can
  10. Well done! Absolutely no way I can keep up on the flat and downhill
  11. It can, just not sure if it can sync to Discovery via Zwift->Garmin. So, I just use my Garmin to connect to all the normal sensors, and Zwift connects to the trainer and same HR/cadence as the Garmin.
  12. I use my Garmin as well, also mostly for Vitality. Then I just delete the duplicate entry on Strava if it happens.

Serious Sam 4: Just in time for heritage day https://www.gog.com/game/serious_sam_4
  14. Tron bike most of the time. Occasionally I switch to the Scott Foil with Zipp 454s (my real bike is the Foil Disc 20).
  15. It is currently $10pm (if you do an annual subscription), or $12pm otherwise, for the subscription which allows sharing. The pricing changes 1st Oct, to $15 I think, but if you subscribe now and don't let it lapse, you'll stay on the lower amount. Currently I have two people sharing added on my account. They each have their own account registered, then under the main account you just add them under Family Sharing.
  16. On my PC (for races) - ANT+ with a long extension to a powered USB hub right next to me. No dropouts since adding the powered hub (although I've probably jinxed it now). On my tablet, Bluetooth because Huawei changed (read: broke) something in their latest update with regards to permissions for services. One in every three or so rides don't have a total dropout of the trainer, followed by hurriedly going into the menus to re-pair.
  17. With Rouvy, people can add their own routes, with video if they want. So, there are many, MANY routes on Rouvy. Quality of the user-added routes and videos varies, of course.
  18. Just a heads up, an update for Zwift is out today, so give yourself extra time before your next ride And no, it is not the UI update. For me my average speed on Zwift isn't something I miss. Workouts are to power, rides are to distance or time, and races are trying to not get dropped too soon. I like the occasional ride on Rouvy (plus, I want to join one day when my dad is riding, and chase him He'll hate me), I've tried RGT, and still enjoy Zwift. We'll see how they grow and which features are added in the next few months.
  19. It's not clear yet. They sent a survey to some users, with a whole bunch of random scenarios, to try and figure out what features people find most valuable and would be willing to pay more for. Some of those made-up scenarios had prices a lot higher than the current price.
  20. If the price rises by that much, I'd probably get more picky with which apps I subscribe to. I'm currently paying for Zwift and Rouvy (which has the advantage that you can have more than one family member sharing). Racing on RGT looks more interesting than on Zwift, and apparently there is a big update on the way, so that is one to keep an eye on.

I couldn't get Quake to run fast enough on our 486, no matter how much I messed around with extended memory etc. I think it really needed a Pentium. I could play Duke Nukem 3D at least
  22. The email does mention that it can only be used online, one per order, and "the only thing you have to pay for is shipping, or add more pairs to get free shipping"? Edit:apparently I type quite slowly on my phone... Anyway, I didn't feel like the email was unclear or hiding anything.
  23. It actually has place under the platform to fasten some weights. I still need to experiment with how much weight I need to balance it out - it seems fine when riding easy, but leans left slightly on harder efforts
  24. It's decent. The build quality seems very good, and I like the clever way the half version could be extended by just bolting on the rest should you later decide you'd prefer a full length one. As for the movement, without my trainer mat I find it pretty easy to get it to move reasonably naturally while seated. Standing is ok too, once you figure it out. Have not tried sprinting yet. One thing though, depending on your trainer it can be tricky to get the position right. On my H2, the bike position is quite off-center, so to get the bike in the center means the left leg is near the edge. This isn't the fault of the platform of course, just something to keep in mind. The Saris MP1 is awesome, but sadly way WAY out of my price range.
