  1. Only new bikes in our home is the children, so I do overdo it a bit.😁
  2. Get the Roxter! Our instruction was also for a green bike! Our youngest is on a Scott Roxter 16 inch, the attention to detail on the Scott is great! The nephews on their Titan`s. The nephew is 4, perhaps to small for the 20inch, he takes his had of the handle bar to grip the brake. On his single speed 16inch, he rides where we do, grinding out the hills or getting off and running. He just wants to ride a bike.
  3. @Pieter1 are you looking at the Scott Scale Pro 400? It is a special order for SA and therefor was canned, but I was concerned about the 63mm suspension. You will probably have more options overseas. My concern was coming from a 80mm Suntour fork. I went Titan Racing about a month ago, the Hades Team 24. It is a beautiful bike, the red pops and the frame is definitely lighter than the Titan Racing Hades Team 20. The 20inch has a Suntour 80mm XCM air shock and was quite surprise with the easy of use and how effective the fork worked, specially for a kids weight. The new 24inch has a Sweep 100mm, looks fantastic but disappointed in the fork. Our son can barely use 30mm of travel, I even struggle to push down in the travel. Both have beafy tires that was getto converted to tubeless and running low tire pressure. At the end of the day, I do not think you can get it too wrong. First day my boy complained about the fork, now he just rides and build jumps, drop offs and balance beams. The Titan Racing is good value for money. The 20inch live`s on and was passed to my susters boy and it will make a 360 back to my youngest. Ps. Titan Racing is looking into the shock
  4. Training vs Racing or Bad Weather vs Fair Weather. Please tell me you have a bike in each color and either match or YinYang. 😁 Enjoy your new slippers!
  5. Beautiful!! Trust Thys is the first name om the Christmas card list. Many happy miles!
  6. Remember that SA team Giant Anthem that took Alan to his first Olympics in Rio. A Special interview from Bikehub please.
  7. 'Cause red is faster! The initial plan was to skip the 24inch size and go from 20 to 26, the jump is just to big. "Luckily" there are another two boys to get hand me downs. The middle one, trothing from the mouth for the black Titan. @Titan Racing Bikesawesome bike! @cycle city Dankie Dirk, gaan altyd die ekstra myl.
  8. Lap 4 was hy uit!!!
  9. Took our eldest to a local XCO race. He was the youngest but could complete the whole route, not like his dad getting off a walking Lekkerval Laagte. We were the last finishers, receiving a "pampoen" for our effort!!! It was nice day out!!! Need to get more children on bikes to get a local series going in our area. For the local Northern Cape Schools we need to travel between 800 - 1200km for a 3km race on tracks not comparable to those in WC, Gauteng or KZN.
  10. No mention of Remco`s white shorts on the podium. Had to put on my sunnies last night.
  11. Hopefully Louis Meintjes can get in the brake for the next two days and go for a high stage finish.
  12. Been itching to ask if @J Wakefield has one of those desirable Red Bull cycle helmets? Congrats with the appointment!
  13. We have two Muna balance bikes between the three boys. The first buy was the more expensive one and the main difference is the foot rest, but it looks like they are no longer available. Both gets used daily and they look battered, think that is the reason why there is not many for sale, gets passed on and even the 7 year old rides it daily. The eldest was a slow transition to normal pedal bike, but the middle one, made the switch very early with no side wheels. Just this weekend he amazed me with his balance and determination to get up the hills, he is 4. When we ride, the little one is on a Feva seat, I hook his balance bike over the handlebar grip and the three of us is down the road to our little flow line. I can recommend the Muna! If I had the $ an EarlyRider of David Mecer would have been on the list.
  14. That Pink and Yellow frame set on the international sites!
  15. @Eugene buy one! Few years back I sold my racing bike from the early 2000, after a month, bought it back for more. The bike holds sentimental value, my first proper race bike my father bought at that stage more worth than is 1984 VW Passat. Miss you dad!
  16. https://escapecollective.com/gallery-the-big-names-come-to-the-fore-at-the-val-di-sole-mtb-world-cup/ Some photo love for Candice and Alan. Our medal hopes for Olympics.
  17. @ChrisF I’m one that stopped watching and it had a knock-on effect to my reading interest, back tot the days of road!
  18. @V12man nice to see you on BikeHub again. What is the latest on the coffee side? Always enjoyed your post. All the best.
  19. Sorry for your loss @davidtinker Perhaps the silver lining https://road.cc/content/tech-news/van-rysel-rcr-pro-team-edition-replica-back-stock-308557 Look at renting a bike for the trip and on the way back pick up a new Van Rysel, him and her versions.
  20. @Jewbacca congrats and respect!!! Is that the Munga wheels? PS. You need some trainer wheels to pull of the look.
  21. @Shebeenjust had a quick glance at the page and info. It can be the covid boom reporting, since reporting on Bicycle Retailer is negative for the last two reports. https://www.bicycleretailer.com/industry-news/2024/05/13/leatt-q1-revenues-decline-19-hampered-elevated-inventory-levels Got a bit of flack the prior time I reported on Leatt not paying dividends and it is not a simple process to trade their share OTC in America, I just know here are farmers in my area that has invested from start up and would do with a return on their investment.

  23. Agree with @Jewbacca between the two boys, I`ve used it a hand full of times to run. Bought a secondhand BOB that went through 3 boys and then my 2. As a off road pram, walking the dogs, exploring in the fields and along the river, was great!!! Just never had the "vasbyt" to actually use it for its intended purpose.
