  1. One month to go, anyone else doing the 160km?
  2. Great bike partner , one needs to see this bike in the flesh to appreciate it , lovely paintjob.
  3. Cheapo 2nd hand road bike/HT on the trainer. Changing wheels/tyres is a pain.
  4. I was fortunate enough to do the last proper J2C 2019 which was "The best nine days of my life" with riding partner @Stockman. I would love to do this last one but it won't happen at this stage. There is still hope though;)
  5. If you go from Rocklands, go to Elandsrivier road or Offcamber , you can safely ride solo on the elands for 100km+ if you want. All gravel with lots of climbing.
  6. Welcome to the HUB 1, Yes it can be done, NX 1 x 12(11-50) cassette will fit on your hub. You'll have to check if a single chainring can fit your crank. 2. Shop around for parts but stock is a problem. Consider 1 x 11 also, lots of 2nd hand gear available.

    Transbaviaans 2022

Transferred our entry for the 2nd time, my 5th and my partners 1st.
  8. What a lekker ride again this year, the last stop was mayhem but awesome.
  9. My rant about a device is my phone. It needed an update and restart recently, no problem, but on restart it told me my 4 digit pin is incorrect. It turns out that the update reverted the pin back to default. Default pin is the pin on the card with the puc number.
  10. Kelly Slater is probably the only one.
  11. Conti Race King is one of the lightest with low rolling resistance BUT they don't last very long if you do a bit of road riding.
  12. Started FarCry5 again in anticipation of FarCry6 launching in October. Also play some Borderlands 3 for fun and a laugh.
  13. 2020 was supposed to be my 5th 2021 might be my 5th Who knows going forward.
  14. Do the 25km and go flat out , it will give you an indication of how fit/strong you are going forward.
  15. That's a beaut bike, well done and many happy miles.
  16. I have 2 bikes on my household policy, R80k and R40k together they about R400/month with Momentum, the bikes are covered for everything including my own stupidity. The only exception is if I was racing pro and earning a living out of it. I've never claimed for either bike in the last 5 years of cover so I don't know how that goes.
  17. Post a couple of pics and some more info like year model etc and you will get some feedback.
  18. I have round on a bike and oval on another, both MTB. I hardly ever ride the bike with the round(hardtail). For me the first thing I feel when riding the round is the crank arms feel longer or the pedal circle feels bigger. I had some knee pain/discomfort after my last ride on the bike with round ring.
  19. Buy a nice new light modern geometry bike and you will be more committed to training and...... ????
  20. We went through Nieu-bethesda yesterday Karoo 100 miler, nice little town but it was the start of a very tough return to Lormar.
  21. Turn off the blue tooth on the 520 and it should make it , have a battery pack in your Bergplaas box or at the Pakhuis stop with your support.
  22. I think you might well get your price, it's realistic and good value for someone wanting to try the sport.
