    Did one of our favourite 'dirt roadie' routes this weekend,by no means a technical ride as it is a kind of gravel pass,but 47km with 800m of climbing it was a propper workout on the single speed.

    Got home a bit earlier than usual on Friday and took my son to go riding on some 'veld paaitjies' behind our suburb.

    Went riding with my brother in law to Stettyn Dam this morning,He hasnt been on the bike in months,so I decided to take the single speed to even out the playing field.

    I'm considering getting XT Trail pedals for my Single Speed,I'm using flats to comute at the moment,but would like to start riding on trails with the SS and would prefer being clipped in.

    I have the bottom of the heap SPD's,the M505,the cheapest and heaviest of the bunch,but they are bullet proof.They tend to get a bit clogged up in muddy conditions,but other than that they have performed flawlesly over the 14months I have been using them.

    This does look like a good compromise between lightweight and comfort for the racing snakes and weight weenies.I think this just might take off......or history might repeat itself.Guess we'll have to wait and see.

    Took my newly build up XTC 29er for its maiden ride today.Sold my Anthem 26er and build this.This big wheel thing is going to take some getting use to.

    Went for a short ride this morning,from Gansbay towards Stanford over Grootbos to Flower Valley,back over De Uijleness climb to Franskraal and back to Gansbay.

    Whent for a road ride from De Kelders near Gansbay to Pearly beach and back.I made it here,and they say "If you can make it here you can make it anywhere!"

    My father hasnt really shown much interest in my cycling over the past year and half,so it was quite a surprise when he asked if he could use one of my bikes to go for a ride with me and my son this morning.

    Got almost everything I need for my 29er build,now its time to start assembly.

    If profesional cycling doesnt work out for him he can always try out a career in ballet dancing.

    Did some exploring on trails in Slanghoek near Rawsonville on Monday,got lost a few times,but found some beautiful places to ride.
