  1. The Scoop is a no-brainer. For what you pay, the comfort and durability is without comparison. Only other saddle brand that comes close is Ergon (which I haven't found available locally yet)
  2. Uhm, no. Used to wear one as a trial. Made no difference. I still sucked at it
  3. Awesome bike! Did you import or manage to source locally?
  4. https://www.onedayonly.co.za/leash-it-cycle-leash-bicycle-tracker.html Anybody have any experience in these? I assume you need a network of users for the principle upon which it works to become effective. Seems kinda pointless in SA...
  5. In the home stretch. Vasbyt!
  6. Who is your mate?
  7. Geez, I had a late night and early start this morning and I feel crap. Can't even begin to understand the demons these peeps must be fighting off at this stage! Kudos!!
  8. Great news! Now you just need to add pockets to your bibshorts "SWAT"-style and we can do away with backpacks and don these great looking shirts. It just always feels wrong to wear a XO type shirt riding trails just to have pockets, especially if your body type is more suitable to going downhill.
  9. Ah well, should have answered that phone call from the unknown number. Congrats Michele for picking up your phone and to be greeted with this news. My Monday has just turned blue again...
  10. Not to be nasty or anything, but I'll post pics of my new Hightower LT/Bronson (still making up my mind) as soon as I have it. Thanks to the rest for participating...
  11. Perhaps those contain the "golden ticket" entry to win the coffee machine? Personally I find it easier and cheaper to go straight to the source. http://www.versussocks.co.za/shop/coffee-ride-premium-race-socks-size-7-11/ and with 4 pairs P&P thrown in. Usually delivered next day to my office - fantastic customer service.
  12. I was thinking of getting a SC as my next bike to ride on Tokai trails. Now I won't have to pay more than R150 for it! Entered!!
  13. My only concern with the bag-with-a-bottle is how bad your bum/back is gonna hurt when your OTB ends in a somersault. Small toolbag in my shirt back pocket when I had a flip was enough to permanently move me to plain shirt and backpack for any offroad ventures. But I suppose the bags with a bladder should provide a softer landing. I am accident prone. I think of these things. Does anyone know where to find the Camelbak Palos?
  14. Boy, it was BRUTAL! The heat hitting from all sides at around 3pm claimed a lot of casualties. But very well-organised event as usual. Caught up on my yearly dose of ostrich sosaties. Well done to all finishers, those still riding as well as those brave enough to enter but couldn't reach the finish by bike!
  15. RIP to a Gentle and Pure Soul. What more can be said...?
  16. Was there also a massive fire close to the route in windy 2009?? Sure you are all lekker p1553d off because it is cancelled, but what do you tell all those affected by the fires that "Sorry, we couldn't bring the firetruck/ambulance to you because we closed the road so that other people could enjoy themselves riding their bikes..."? Have some perspective...
  17. Things could get a bit crowded with the two events so close to each other. Did the Grabouw event this year so time again for 24hours at Dr Cluver...
  18. Sjoh you guys are privileged: to have all the skill and also all of the trail just to yourselves! Can't wait to try it out, although also first looking to buy some skills credits somewhere - why can't you just level up Playstation-style?
  19. Any thoughts on these? I'm trying hard to find local stockists. http://www.bike-discount.de/media/org/orgb_N/orgid_321/thumbs/152802_1029360.jpg
  20. Cool gloves! They seem to last forever.
  21. Believe me I've stared at it for a while. Just a big shame mine is a 29er
  22. Long term plan for a Pike, but the missus will kill me dead if I replace the AC's so soon...
  23. Getting there, getting there, baby steps...
