  1. Thanks Griffin for an awesome event. Definitely the most slippery conditions I have ever ridden, but so keen to come give them another go when they dry out.
  2. We need to get EVERYONE to take the 'Vitality Active Rewards Survey' that was emailed out this morning. If enough of us ask for is, we might be able to get Garmin 520's, Fenix 5's or Forerunner 935's next year. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TC2KL3P
  3. 'Bean Doping' again on my #coffeeride.

  5. Thanks for the response. I'm looking at the smaller packs than what you have though. The Camelbak Ultra Pro costs R1800 and the equivalent Salomon Advance Skin 5 Set costs R3000. I'm sure it is much more comfortable but not sure I can justify the extra cost.
  6. Thank you. Don't know how I missed that. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  7. Does anyone know where I can find one of these in SA? https://www.camelbak.com/en/packs/R01040--Ultra_Pro_Vest?color=f5dbb8c1a2c9474ab19c9798cea62460
  8. Thanks for the knowledgable insight Droo. Besides the shaft clamp, I also don't have a blow torch or red Loctite, haha. I'll just keep riding with the current rebound until the damper is due for a service.
  9. So the rebound damping adjutment knob on my Fox Fork FIT4 damper is stuck. It's about 7-8 clicks in so it's not jammed against one of the end limits. Before it completely seized, it would occiasionally get stuck between stops but I was able to muscle it loose. Now I'm afraid if I apply any more force I'll snap the rod off the damper. Even dropping the lowers off didn't help it come un-stuck. Are there any suggestions, short of sending it off to Omnico? It's just out of warranty so I can kick myself for not sending it back a few months ago.
  10. That one piece Hixon bar/stem is something to get used to. Nice to see something different, but probably not so nice if you're one to mount accessories onto the bar. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  11. Has anyone else noticed that all online sneakpeaks of the 2018 Anthem 2 29er have been removed. Removed from Bikehub & removed from my Giant LBS facebook page. Under strict instruction I ussume? Does anyone have some inside info?
  12. Nice one Martin. I'll be looking out for your name in the results. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  13. Warrapen Martin? Didn't see his name in the Round 1 results.
  14. It looks like a couple hundred people disagree, but the Stage 6 photo really isn't that great. The dark & out of focus rock dominates the whole picture.
  15. Hmmm, how reliable is your source? They were either talking out their arse or Giant are running late. My guess is that they'll just save it for their 2018 range, most likely announced in September/October. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  16. Ah man. I thought those were some kind of half-butted tapering spokes for super compliance, haha. Excuse the sarcasm, it's Friday and the weekend needs me.
  17. Nope, thats the same black with white writing. The only difference is that there is more dirt on it. Look carefully.
  18. I don't know where you are seeing this "all clear white"? Not in any of the photos in this article.
  19. Someone was in a rush when they typed that. 20m riders and S0km route, haha. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  20. Strange happenings. Somehow Discovery managed to un-link itself from my wifes TomTom account. Now the joy of trying to prove that she actually did do the activity when the vitality rep who responded to my email doesn't know what a .FIT file is. I would usually have just relinked and let it slide, but I'm gunning for Flight Booster so 2 weeks of not acheiving her goal means R300 loss. On another topic, there are big admin issues regarding the shoe booster that they are still trying to sort out. Shoes purchased 3 weeks ago and vitality still hasn't received info from Sportsmans Warehouse that I purchased shoes.
  21. There is a purchase limit of R2000. Over 12 months they will pay you 75% of your purchase back. Therefore they will never pay more than R125/month.Lucky find to get the old Nimbus on a good sale though.
  22. The Bio I saw at Virgin Active was very strict with her marking, perhaps because she is the Bio for the Sharks Team. I scored half marks for a 5 of the 7 strength & flexibility movements. Also, she couldn't figure out how to get the Wattbike to do 25W steps, so I had to do 15W steps and only got up to 285W before my heart rate was at 85% of my age max. In the end I scored 4/5 for the fitness assessment, which I'm pretty bleak about. I consider myself pretty fit and I finish 45km MTB races in around 2hrs flat, in hilly KZN nogal. Me thinks something went wrong. Next year I'll go straight for the High Performance test see how that goes.
  23. I was about to point out the same thing. On an unfamiliar track you come around a corner and BAM...you're on a steep uphill that you didn't see coming. Dropping gear on the front ring in times like these, helps you keep your momentum. Instead of grinding all the way up your dinner plate of a cassette. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  24. My guess is that 'someone' at Discovery Store Sea Point don't know what they're talking about. The high performance PDF on the website is pretty clear. To qualify you must either do the regular fitness test and score 5/5 and then pay again to do the high performance one... Or prove that you have completed a race in less than the specified times, and score all the points for the regular one without paying for it, and jump straight to the high performance one. 25. It sounds like she is plotting your assassination and she is angry because she has to wait another 4 weeks to do it, so that she can claim life insurance.Haha just kidding, I know how apprehensive a pregnant woman can be. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
