I think its going to be absolute chaos with guys trying to race it. An absolute crashfest! I really still want to ride, but for the sake of riding. Twice, if they will allow it in the day. It would be nice if they neutralised it completely and turned it into a huge Twitter ride/Critical Mass Perhaps I should drop down 10 groups and find some like minded people.

The fire should be out soon (well, lets hope so), so the safety issue isn't about the fire itself, but about what damage has been done to the road and surrounds. Rock and land slides along Chappies are a real risk, even without rain.

Muizenberg is a stuff up. Its far too dangerous to send huge groups at high speed through the narrow bits that zip left and right. Chappies will be fine. They will just move the barriers back like last year. Suikerbossie is almost complete. They are sweeping and painting lines etc.

No one has said anything about the Muizenberg road works. It gets very narrow as the road zips left and right between the excavations on either side.
