Sometimes when people sell a bike or wheels, they say used for training only, not racing. As if racing puts more stress/strain on the item?

I imagine that one would train more that you race in a season. So the 'race' wheels get less mileage. Or something like that...

I think the Conti tyres are on the slightly narrow side. I used to have 2.1 on the front and 1.95 on the back of my old hard tail. 2.4 is pretty chunky.

There was more than one team who did the DC on mtb's with knobblies. I find it tough enough on my roadie!

So only skinny people should have nice bikes? Or top 10 racers? Or only racing drivers should drive nice cars? Or only fashion designers should wear nice clothes? or a nice watch or nice sunglasses etc ect Edzachary! (But on the other hand, Darren. That is insane! You sound fairly calm about it. How did you deal with the shop/mechanic? What did you say? What have they done to rectify it for you?

I know he did a midnight lap. I saw him on Boyes drive and he was looking good as always. Dunno how the rest of his day went. At least it was cool. The wind picked up a bit later, I hope it didnt slow anyone down.

There were several that started in VA, VB & Subvets. We passed a lot of them in Newlands and along the M3. (I rode in group C) Not a great training ride for Epic. Its a bit risky. I would hate to have a silly prang in the Argus and miss out on the Epic because of that.

Hope has the integrated and semi integrated (integral) headset. I have a Giant Anthem X1 and the Hope Integral headset was the correct one. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=18084 My reason for replacing my headset: I have a bit of a Hope fetish. And I wanted to drop my handlebars a bit more.
