  1. Running shoes also promote landing on your heel = repetitive impact and over time, injury. The 5 finger encourages the more natural bare foot style of running on the balls of your feet. Thick sole running shoes also prevent your feet from feeling the ground and letting them compensate for irregularities, so there are more twisted ankles etc. The 5 fingers let your feet feel the ground and lets the supercomputer that is your brain balance your feet and body over uneven ground. They let you feel the kudu in you. They do look funny. But so does cycling kit in the coffee shop...
  2. They match your bike nicely!
  3. I had a pair of those and we didnt get on very well at all. I weigh 100kg. I recently went through the wheel search and buying process and spoke to someone @ Coolheat about Shimano wheels and rider weight limits. His response: Most wheel manufactures don’t give a wheel limited but from our experience we have found that people over 85 kg should not ride factory built wheel sets. So, to answer your question, you will be fine on those wheels. Enjoy!

    My New Ride

I like that. It has a certain Hotness. I am scared to think what you are going to do to your morning ride group with that machine...
  5. Does anyone know who the guy in the Big 5 jersey is? Link
  6. I removed mine so I could position my brake levers over the shifters. Those screws are tiny - beware!
  7. Which one? That a Double Red Bull ensures you dont get tired on the second lap ?
  8. I saw this machine in action on Saturday. Wicked!
  9. Most of our team had cooked feet by the end. I couldnt wait to get my shoes off. Last year was so much worse in the heat.
  10. 8 punctures for our team. Ridiculous!
  11. YAY! Nipples! That is quite a war horse. New frame? What happened to the old one?
  12. Ja, come on. Show us some nipple!
  13. The more people rant about him, the more ammo he has to write more drivel. At least half of that article is belittling everything that has been said about him. Clearly he thrives on the reactions. Best to ignore him.
  14. I prefer Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Much healthier, but not as tasty.
  15. I feel completely flat for a week on the bike and only start coming right after 2 weeks. I definitely don't do it before races. I realise holiday season is coming and there are no more races, so its time to donate again.
  16. What was the actual problem? That she was coloured That she was female That she had MTN kit on That she could stick with your group OR That she kept pushing in at the front? By the way, how does a person ride?
  17. Awesome concert last night!
  18. Doesn't the 2011 have a tapered steerer tube, QR15 fork and pressfit bearings? I'd say that those are upgrades over the 2010 model. Black is faster than blue anyway...
  19. Ditto There is a big difference between need and want.
  20. If you have trouble with your cookie, best you see a gynaecologist...
  21. Ride to Swellendam and back. That should be some good bonding time with your new bike. Take a multi tool to make some adjustments to your set-up on the way.
  22. Be careful not to lose any water bottles out on the course... Link Good luck with your training. The Giant TCR is a great bike!
  23. Month? The DC is next weekend?
  24. My heart rate goes high enough in a race. Its not a good idea for me to have caffeine - that just revs it even more. I used to use USN Cytopower HP, but have now switched to the Stimulant Free version. I also steer clear of gels with caffeine.
  25. I have 175mm cranks and am supposed to have 172.5. I have been looking around to see if its worth changing and found several articles. This one is from PezCycling News - Link
