  11. Received via WhatsApp: Wednesday 21 April at 06:10 a group of 6 cyclists were part of an attempted high jacking just past the Steenberg circle and Steenberg Village Shopping Centre heading towards the US Embassy. The 2 perpetrators sprayed the cyclists with a pepper spray mixture from a water bottle. Most of the spray hit the cyclists on their bodies with 1 cyclist being caught in the eye forcing him to immediate stop. The rest of the group also stopped. Fortunately the perpetrators saw the the entire group stop and just casually walked away....Pedestrians and passers by assisted and the case was reported to the Kirstenhof SAPS as well as the security at Steenberg Estate.Brazen - not even phased by a sizable group. We were just lucky. Be careful out there.....
  12. People crashing the race village facilities is common enough for the organisers to fence them off and post security guards
  13. Lezyne Sport Gravel Floor Drive (Not because I have a gravel bike, but because none of my tyres go over 100 PSI any more)
  14. I think that the Cardinal was more referring to the use of the race facilities on a stage race (MTB ?) rather than sharing the road with these miscreants.
  15. That's thinly veiled theft, isn't it ? This part: 'they feel they did nothing wrong and that it is a free country where they can do what they want.' I wonder how they would feel if things were reversed and people helped themselves to their bikes and kit while they were chilling the chill zones ? I mean, its a free country after all...
  16. It was very smooth and fast. I ordered on the 8th April and delivery by DHL was on the 13th. I didn't do any price comparisons, so I don't know if I scored or was robbed.

I am battling to get mine to link to Strava, so isn't really serving a purpose at this stage. Perhaps I should reinstall and start again.

  19. Not sure if I should start another thread, but wow! Today's fire in Cape Town has been crazy!! There has been some HUGE damage. Rhodes Mem restaurant, Mostert's Mill and UCT library being 3 of the many bigger casualties. Speaking of which, I hope no lives were lost. Social Media is just full of it, so I don't even know where to start linking. Edit: I see that it's on the 'Hot off the Press' thread. Apologies for the repeat
  20. Very nice. Good value for money build. Congrats! What is the final weight ?
