  1. Bummed i cant be there
  2. They really should just gooi that last 5km along the tar road if it is that wet again….for all your sakes. That mud wrestling wasn't fun at all…I pretty much had a sense of humor failure around that point😅
  3. Maybe a wetsuit too?
  4. decisions though…do you get peasant level GX transmission or ‘old outdated’ XX1 AXS for the same moneys? 😅
  5. If you are willing to drive into a place like Crossroads or some other obviously dodge place in the hope of scoring a too good to be true deal….then you are either the most gullible fool in SA or you probably deserve whatever is waiting in the bushes. My kid’s nanny lives in Crossroads. We bought her and her family a new fridge last year and Tafelberg flatout refused to go deliver it there even though we paid for delivery. They eventually subbed it out to some private guy, who organised a police escort from their local station🤣
  6. Madness. Goodluck🤘
  7. OP, just incase - i’m sorry but this can be described as bad advice, as neither of these will work in a 26.4 frame. contact Nils at Woodstock Cycle works in Cape Town. They had a 27mm one and a few other options back when i was looking, and for reference, a 27.2 didn't even fit in a 27mm frame. Close enough does not = fine….an unfortunate reality of older frames.
  8. You just ride in front, we’ll follow in your sloppy seconds😇
  9. Well you could have paid 30k for a Fox fork with gooooooooooooold stantions to come over greased in the negative chamber and feel like sh!t straight from the factory lol. The Fox coolaid is the best flavour !
  10. Mine enjoys coming along to revel in my suffering. She even laughs at me when i fall myself into hospital…then tell the nurses and doctors to not take it too easy because i probably deserved it for doing something stupid in the first place. Im not sure if she really loves me…but at least i know she thinks im funny right? It’s not much but it’s something 😜
  11. You know what i meant! Stop trying to be a wiseass all the time😅. it wasn't necessarily referring to the US. It just happened to be in the universal currency ($). If it read £800 instead we would know that included 20 odd % lol Whichever way you look at it…it costs 60% more here than the RRP of $1000/1000€/1000moneys
  12. Well…technically the 1000$ includes foreign VAT?. But as with everything here…take oversees retail and add 25%🤣 (1000x18=18k +25% = R22500….hey wait a minute haha) ….more like 60% right?…(1000x18 =18k +60% = R28k ish) bastards….
  13. Sunday will be dry. Plesier😅
  14. We are doing this in full enduro mode for laughs @BikeGenie
  15. Entered this last year but cant remember why i didn't end up going🧐 At my current fitness levels ill only make it halfway without dying though😅
  16. They were awesome last time around too. I remember the high school kids at the last waterpoint the most - i think 10km from the end. I was DONE…mud all the way to my gooch DONE. But their energy under that gazebo in the poring rain helped epic amounts.
  17. All the pot entries in classifieds tells you all you need to know about the weather forecast haha
  18. Im a pleb, and cant really ride for chit, but yes my enduro bike does just fine, and im 90kg at the moment too. I have a Reynolds 853 bike, a Tange prestige bike and a columbus slx bike. They are all super nice riding frames. I was more talking about the heavy steel things that some brands market as “steel is real” when in fact they are just heavy-harsh-ass overbuilt trusses.

  20. Wat bedoel jy? Ek se mos dit lyk lekker lol. I use that caustic soaking method to bling up smaller parts like brake adaptors etc. Yes i want a silver stem too…but i cant justify dropping a R2k black burgtec stem in some caustic soda solution haha. I might do it with a generic i have lying around to try though
  21. Farr is, and has not been ‘local’ for a quite a while now. Having had one of those gravel frames in my stable, in conjunction with many other boutique steel frames, these are cheap in comparison for a reason. Which also means they are heavy AF and not that compliant at all. You cant just look at the welds and make a call. Steel is not steel is not real. There is this misconception that all steel bikes are plush and compliant and that all alloy bikes are harsh. Its a falacy. As with anything…when it comes to steel bikes and the type of tubing used….you get what you pay for. A crappy steel bike can be more harsh than a good alloy bike. GOOD steel is real. im willing to bet my life that a Mercer rides better than anything on that farr website - as an example. i even have a hand made steel enduro bike and it gets picked up and felt up more than a taiwanese ladyboy over weekends. Bro’s are always shocked at how light it is for it’s size. Its lighter than some carbon ones out there. too many welded-up-from-mildsteel-water-pipe frames out there riding the Steel-Is-Real bandwagon 😅
  22. I know that trick. Looks lekker.
