  1. ….But im not hating how the SS feels, since I frequent tygerburm, it might live there till it dies….or I do🤪
  2. Then ill try one. This SS is/was new old stock and was before bike tires cost more tgan car tires….so im not precious. All I know is Dissectors are POS tires…just because ive had pencil erasers on the back of pencils that lasted longer. Total dud that for maxxis. And im not even an aggro rider, still tearing off side knobs like mielies
  3. I rode it (the SS)there this weekend. Crazy how fast it rolls and picks up speed. Im sure if you don’t pair it with a boat anker like an Assegai it will feel even faster. It almost feels like the panaracers on my gravel bike rolling along. Rode a schwalbe rock razor on my hardtail too back then (schwalbes semi slick). And loved it. I don’t think semi slicks are that bad around here. Yes it wont work everywhere, and it’s a good incentive to stop using the coward levers so much on lose stuff for sure. They stop just fine on hardpack stuff. It also isn't infinitely worse, you adapt pretty quickly. A minion SS still makes a recon race or the rest of those ‘cape epic’ crop of tyres look like gravel tires. And those lot havent died yet. They work nicely on these flowey trails.
  4. Owloon, next to Rhebokskloof. Nice trails.
  5. THAT climb🤪….. also, im not so sure about the 2pm start. The worst part of the day is in the beginning. I rode there today, started around 1, and it was hectic. If it pushes 30* that weekend it will be tough. Imo these trails are more difficult that Spez Paarl’s. i agree fully with @PhilipV that going fast here will require lots of skills and be scary. So so so loose. Like riversand marbles over hardpack. Lots of deep sand in spots too. Super sketch. Pinecone is a nice trail….when you eventually get there🤣.
  6. I ps: now it WILL self destruct. Anything related to that thread and my profile is auto-delete. The overlords are watching👀
  7. Nice. Lots of rounds by the sound of it and the trails actually look super fun. Not to mention, lots to do for the family while we go fall down mountains. also…time to finally dig out that maxxis minion SS I have. Perfect rear tire for that. Mach 3 enabled👀
  8. Im saying lets do these “XC’duro’s” in the dark for added fun. Its awesome riding in the dark. Everything feels faster.
  9. Only starting a 2pm apparently so should be a different experience in terms of weather and light nearing the end of the day imo. They should make these ‘mild’ enduros twilight/night races, so you have to enduro with some lights on your bike. That will separate the men from the boys too for sure.
  10. So you’re saying i need to convince my wife she doesn't want to ride? (5F) 😅
  11. Bagged me another 2E this year. Could probably get it down if I query after 99’er, but it doesn't matter at all, ill be riding where the party is at the back anyway🤘
  12. Entered. it notes 6 stages for the full on entry though? And a starting time of 11:55? Surely not? also, will there be an official scouting ride again before the time like at paarl? Or whenever. Im not sure when i’m going to get the chance to go look at the trails, might have to ride it blind😅 hope not. @Warren Melissa Go Riding?
  13. Haha that kid’s body language says it all. The floor is lava! No feet on the floor between start and finish allowed!
  14. Id also want to go. But you’ve atleast done this one before…even on one of your children's bikes. Can one do this blind?
  15. That was brutal. Finished just after 10am and it was 36* already
  16. Noooooiiis!
  17. How is this a surprise though? They didnt use it last year due to the condition of it…a year later it looks even worse. Soon it will be a dirt road, ateast then it can be part of the Epic or some gravel race😅
  18. Might not look it, but these are some of the biggest small cars you get. Perfect student car imo. Yes its a bicycle with doors and two airbags but we like bikes right? We have a 2door one we use for work. I have put things inside this that you cant fit in the back of a double cab bakkie. When the Rav and bike rack is not available, I use this to put my bikes in and even though i have to take the wheels off, it fits my huge bikes fine. And…20km/L. I get 700km on its 35L tank. I remember the days it cost us R220 to fill. It costs close to 800 now. Thats how long we have had it. I call ours the cockroach. It just doesnt want to die. It has 180k km on it, has been driven with no oil or water in it by the office numpties. Still going without skipping a beat. It never gets serviced. Felt bad for it at 160k km so took it to toyota for the first time since 100k km and expected them to tell me its scrap. They literally changed oil and filter and said it was still golden haha. and at the coast its 3cyl 1liter engine has plenty because it weighs nothing. Sounds lekker to for that reason…especially above 5k rpm👀
  19. Mine wasn't, its not even listed under seeding events. They are still using 99er from last year with the penalty applied. EGranted, I literally ‘placed’ last year in the half distance lol. Think I got 4th in my age group or something
  20. In the order i have them listed. (Taken from the video). I updated the 1st post.
  21. thanks!
  22. Stages: 1: Skydive 2: Pipeline 3: Pinecone 4: Super Bowl 5: Stifler’s Mom lll try and get them drawn on a map in the next days. edit: can someone please point out Pipeline on a map, the rest are all there to see on trailforks..ill still put them on a map.Assuming something got a name change or it’s new. Any locals? Maybe @Warren Melissa Go Riding? thanks
