  1. Mtn Qhubeka is sending a pretty strong all African team. Looking forward to this one.
  2. I should have given you a fright to kick-start your engine again...
  3. Nope, I got away from E at around 50km and didn't get caught. Hard work all alone from there though!
  4. First road race in years! Had to start in HL (ie. ZZ). 2 man TTT the whole way. 2h58 for the 103km, stopping to tube my mate's puncture almost cost us the sub-3. Really good route, enjoyed it.
  5. Last year's event: http://app.strava.com/activities/48664372/
  6. Ha ha! Don't worry, I had awful neck spasms from nervously looking back over my shoulder the whole day.
  7. It is a great event! Doubt I'll be able to make it this year though...
  8. Activeworx. Be trained by the same coaches who coach Team MTN Qhubeka. http://www.activeworx.co.za/
  9. Definitely. It may work for a while but, in my experience, the half-link chains stretch even faster than normal chains. It will be next to no time before your chain is hopping off.
  10. You are amazing Jules!
  11. Epic - R45 900 per team = R5737.50 per team per day J2C - R28 000 per team = R3111.11 per team per day
  12. 500 worked fine on Dusi.
  13. Come on guys, I can assure you that the organisers are not trying to rip us off. The fee is still pocket-change when compared to Epic. The food is better, the camps are better, the atmosphere is better, it is a day longer and there is hundreds of km of purpose-cut singletrack. Solo entries are a bit more because it means individual tents etc.
  14. Ha ha! I have a wire bike trophy from Berg & Bush Descent last year too. This was a seriously cool event. All you trail riders will love the technical course and lack of traffic. Really great riding especially day1.
  15. Yeah, was awesome. Loved it!
  16. Hi MTBer Yup, you should get this checked out. Come and see me or Jon at the Morningside Sports Med Centre. We can do a stress ECG and a proper history and exam for you. Bookings through Karen on 011 883 9000
  17. It is still cheating. Perhaps more random tests will reveal how big the amateur doping scene really is...
  18. Hey guys. Stanozolol is not prescribed by a doctor ever really. The only way that this was mistaken is if he took a contaminated supplement. Athletes are responsible for whatever they put into their bodies however. No excuses and no TUE here I'm afraid.
  19. I think he is talking about the Stumpjumper FSR. It definitely is not designed for XC. It has 140mm front and back as far as I know and this puts it in direct competition with the SC TallBoy LT.

    Rapha Festive 500

40km to go. Gonna take it nice and easy...
  21. It was a great Sabie! The best one I have done so far. Maybe the 40km day should be 4th so that prize giving can get done earlier though? Thanks to the rest of the FRIB team, the river tube races were almost as good as the rides. Single-speed FTW! Not a single mechanical despite the mud and dust.
  22. Constantly innovating and evolving. joBerg2c FTW! See you on the start line.
  23. Thanks! Yeah, my plants are seriously neglected. Those are the survivors.
  24. Thanks dalem!
