    Traffic rules

well' date=' that's a weird comparison! when disobeying a red traffic light you do not harm a persons life or scare the sh*t out him. you could jsut as well have compared that with shooting someone... [/quote'] I think it's a very valid comprison - if disobeying a red traffic light is not going to harm a persons life why are we having a hissy fit when motorists do jump a red light then?? I'm pretty sure that a car flying through a red light at 80 km/h is going to do some serious damage to your life, perhaps even end it !!! the comparison between a cyclist going over a red light and someone hijacking cars is a good one???? explain! of course a car racing through a red light can cause serious damage. why r u writing that? where' the connection? In my opinion TheLegend is correct here. Traffic rules is the most basic law in the country, and if you cant even adhere to traffic rules how manny other laws to you break. I always said if traffic rules are enforced more strictly on the road the will be less crime. look at incidents lately. A motorist is not happy with a taxi skipping a red robot, chasing after him and push him of the road, seven other taxi's stop and the motorist end up in hospital and laying assualt charges. I also would like to know how many cyclists get knocked down by motorists that is frustrated because on cyclist skip a red robot in front of him and when he see anothe cyclist decide f@ck you and drive straight over him. I can see where the comparison between skipping a robot and hijacking comes from. Today you skip the robot and get away with it. Tomorow you speed and get away with it. Then you walk into a shop and take a wheel set and get away with it. and at the end you decide to take a car. Remember stats shows that all hard core criminals started as pety thiefs.
  4. Grapkas klink of jy goed opgewerk is vir die race. Kry die arme girls jammer as jy in so bui gaan wees Sondag.
  5. It will be the same as in Rugby. The Eastern cape worked hard to develop the players and then all the big provinces lured them away with big money. Now rugby in the eastern Cape is almost non existent. Mallo your riders might be smiling. The same with the liberty live riders in the Cape. If this is true all off them will probably be offered contracts with the other proteams.

That wind is normally a tail wind going out and full on head winf coming back. Will be trying to hang on in the B bunch. Last year the bunch I was riding in didn't want to work on the way back. Turned in 1:01 and finished in 2:42.
  7. Germiston Wheelers do a ride down to Durban every year. This year they went down in September. Maybe Mervin or Simon can advice on the planning.
  8. The early start for the licenced groups is probable to protect them from the wind. The later it get the stronger the win. Then the open groups times will be slower.
  9. Grapkas Net met die swem broek? Watter Virgin Active, wanneer?
  12. It all depends at the situation. If I sit in a good bunch I wil definately not stop to help someone. If I already dropped from the bunch and cruising to the finish I will stop as it is a welcome oppertunity to rest. Have stopped at some tail enders at the craddle of human kind on my way home. Two blokes were standing about 3 km's from the end, both in their first race trying to patch the tube. They had all the spares with them. They were so tired firstly they battled to get the tyre back on and I helped them to do that, then went to the car to get the pressure pump, the one guy tried to pump but could not so had to helped out. I think these type of guys really need help when stuck on the side of the road as they still getting used to cycling. Anyway if you race in say A to D and the licenced groups most of the guys there that don't carry spare tubes or pumps do so to get an "advantage" so why give up your race for them.
  13. Slowpoke, Speedy recovery. Someone need to send her flowers once she is back in JHb.
  14. Wasn't there some rumours that Robyy H would join Barlow world as well. Maybe they are in negotiations with the pro tour organizers to finalize those two contracts. Maybe Basso will sign with a "smaller" team then he can call the shots.
  15. Crux will you ever ride this bike? You always in the Vito doing support. Who else will do the support if you going to ride this?
  16. Crux You now Sponsoring Amoryn And Chilli with these bikes?
  17. I think cajees cater for the masses as is said before. Probably doing more to make cycling more accessesable to everyone. If someone go and buy a entry level bike to start training or getting fit they don't care or know that the bike need to be serviced. They want the cheapest bike they can get. The LBS's are only interested in getting high end stuff out on the market. I know a guy that decided to start cycling and went to a LBS to get an entry level bike, they told him such a lot of sh@t that he walked out there R 15 000 later. Cycled for 3 months and did not liked it. If some one by a bike at Cajees and then go to a LBS to do a srvice and proper setup and they don't like that stuff them too as they charge for it anyway.
  18. virunqa, If you want to join be at the Circus at 7:30 Sunday morning.
  19. There is a "funride" from the circus Sunday morning. Organized by the Eskom club and the Wheelers will join.
  20. Big H I asked the question before as well. He was tested several times before day 17 and the Saturday and Sunday as well. All negative except day 17. My question was how can you test positive one day and negative the next day. Then one must look at the testing procedure. Saw on another website that apparently the control numbers on the A and B samples did not match either. Probably the reason why he were not stripped of the TDF win yet.
  21. Is he only invloved in the destribution or in the manufacturing as well?
  22. Maybe the weekend after the 94.7 as a recovery ride.
  23. Wonderwoman You have to get a route closer to Alberton, then I would be able to join. Maybe join parts of the Carnival, H2H and Vodacom races and go through suikerbossie both ways.
  24. And when Jachue retires he will sponser a QUICKETS pro team.
