  1. https://www.woodoc.com/en/products/woodoc-25-water-borne-floor-sealer Use this on some random projects - mostly related to workshop duties and not furniture. Finish is rather nice, little "yellowing/staining effect", and dries quickly.
  2. After reading about Jared Graves' brain tumour diagnosis, I can't help wonder if this could be attributed to cycling related head injuries. https://www.pinkbike.com/news/jared-graves-diagnosed-with-a-brain-tumor.html
  3. Let's take Jonkers for example. Only dbl Black/Plumber really, and only sections of that. So of the total trail network there it's a minor percentage. Canaries, Firehut and Bennets are all rideable (meaning you'll still have plenty fun) even on a xc bikes. Just my opinion, but if you're going to spend 3 hours riding all the trails there and only 2-3 mins are spent on "gnarly" sections - is it really worth it? To come back to the Ransom - like a said, if the suspension is all its cracked up to be then maybe, possibly for n=1, definitely for n+1
  4. Calm yer mammaries man. It all about personal preferences and I'm not prescribing to anyone. And while these bikes are cool and we all would like to think we need all the travel available, I'm pretty sure mid travel bikes will actually do just fine. I'm riding an Enduro 29er, which is a very capable bike in many respects, but it really just comes into its own on trails the like of Jonkers and Steilte.
  5. If the suspension is really as effective as they make it out to be, then perhaps. But unfortunately there is little available trails locally that really warrants 170mm of travel.
  6. As a n+1 bike (where n>5) it’d be great. I’d look at the Ibis Ripmo first in the long travel 29er category, although the Ransom has a lot of appeal for due to it’s low weight.
  7. Nice. Did you use a potato for that photo?
  8. If the back- and upsweep or bar roll works for the rider I don’t see why not. Saving weight is always a plus.
  9. Logically yes, as supporting the weight on the pedals will also be more stable with the lower center of gravity.
  10. Just a pity the free shipping on orders for ZA is R6300 vs the rest of the world is R900 - R2200. Now I'm in the predicament to spend R2000 extra to save R450 on shipping.
  11. Can’t say,Mine hangs just above the down tube.
  12. To an extend I agree, and from a suppliers pov I would also be skeptical after the 3rd frame broke. But at the same time, it's rather concerning that they can claim the top tube is not strong enough when an aero-tuck is not exactly uncommon practice.
  13. Lessons learned here, honesty won't go unpunished. When it comes to warranty claims, be vague and provide as little information as possible. You know, like a little kid's explaining to his parents why he broke something; "I was just standing there and then when I looked it was broken". Suppliers seem to have these "ahh it's because you did that" excuses to absolve themselves.
  14. Those are the same stats of teams playing against the NZ teams (ABs, Crusaders etc). Holding onto the ball means nothing if you can't function under pressure and create opportunities.
  15. Not sure if they stock the pipes, just ordered online. Got the pipes from Agrimark. Any irrigation supplier will be able to sort you out.
  16. Did we really ever improve? We only won against a tired English team coming off a losing streak, only to lose the last game. Rassie is not the messiah and we’re not going to win against the All blacks. Soon if ever. We’re ****, have been **** for years and it’s time we accept that we’re not as good as we’d like to think we are. we’re nowhere close to world no.1s.
  17. R369 for the fixtures, and the pipes were separate, about R50/m. You can make up your own lengths. I figure 3/4" pipe are good for up to 2m lengths. https://www.toolcraft.co.za/products/pony-clamp-3-4-pipe-the-original
  18. Got some pipe clamps this week from Toolcraft. I recall there were someone looking for them a while ago. These are great value and better than similar priced sash clamps. Record sash clamps have just become unaffordable.
  19. Seems like we have the same idea.
  20. Lol, must be confirmation bias. I read it the other way.
  21. Issue is with Skynet, not UPS that Merlin uses.
  22. Indeed, just got flash backs now from some 10 years ago. Looked at all sorts of glass bead fillers to reduce volume and cost.
  23. Not in this way, as I'm not a fan. But epoxies are straight forward and if you speak to AMT composites, they should be able to sort you out.. https://www.amtcomposites.co.za/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwk_TbBRDsARIsAALJSObxlwJ0e0RFHFDhNF02A9_-1eOnf16AKVyZWZI7jRllfEpi5X7sBewaAkU3EALw_wcB
  24. Still better than a heavy, expensive gear box that can't down-shift under load.
  25. Yes, and no to an extend. My lbs is more of a service/repair shop, so not a retailer. But ja, I've decided I will let the money do the talking from now on.
