  1. What about your local kitchen manufacturers/board suppliers? Those should be standard items and if they can supply you with melamine/mdf etc they'll have those thinner sheets too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Where is this? And thicknesses? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Give Granor Passi in Durban a call. I thought PG Bison is the main supplier locally of SA pine boards?
  4. Yeah, the problem in SA starts with the word pine. I've seen shutter ply with so many variations in thickness that it could pass as a 15 - 21 mm sheet. If you need/can work with ~1m^2 sheets, a good option is to try and source it from one of the juice/concentrate importers. ~18 - 25 mm thick sheets, and some are pretty decent quality. Just avoid the ones with a plastic laminate on one face. eg. https://www.gumtree.co.za/a-construction-materials/other/shutterply-plywood-shutter-ply-18-21-24-25-everything-must-go-hurry-before-its-too-late/1002199397270911294966609
  5. Birch ply is probably what you're looking for, but oh so expensive. Paid R900 for sheet recently.
  6. Also have my eye one one of those spoke shaves (for dining chairs I'm planning), and the rabbet block plane. The low angle is too expensive at R3k. I'd rather buy the Lie Nielsen or a Veritas from Lee Valley at the rate the ZAR is strengthening. Are you referring to Brian? He's a super nice guy and very passionate about the hobby. All of them actually. They take the time to demonstrate the tools for you and are very helpful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I had to google that, but it's quite hilarious.
  8. Lucky you. Without a doubt a no brainer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Ah, so they have stock again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Yeah. But even if you buy in bulk the shipping is still crazy expensive via Amazon. For it make sense to me, it needs come in landed at under R350 ea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. A group buy can offset shipping cost if you can get enough people on board for say 20-30 clamps. If only I could somehow get these Iriwn pipe clamps. http://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/332188788472-0-1/s-l1000.jpg
  12. Also looked at pipe clamps, but picked up 1.5m sash clamps for ~R280. At that price I can buy more clamps and use more on glue-ups making each clamp work less. Pipe clamps go for around R400 excluding the pipe.
  13. Nice. I'm still undecided about my setup. Cant decide if a shallow drawer cabinet/work table be better than french cleat wall system, but will probably only happen when I throw out the tall steel cabinets and build a new workbench and cabinet.
  14. Same here. I wouldn't want to hear my neighbours either. I'll leave heavy work on the table saw and planers for Saturday mornings.
  15. You give them feminazis the benefit of the doubt, but the stuff they come up with is beyond retarded. I wouldn't put this past them. This is all I read/hear;
  16. Some men could go with one lady owner, only used on sundays.
  17. I'm very much familiar with the intricacies of carbon fibre manufacturing and the economies of scale. Like I said, elsewhere in world many of the smaller brands offer better value for money than the big brands like spez, trek etc. I'm hesitant to reference their local competitor for speaking under correction, but Momsen bikes have always offered better value than Pyga and we can assume their sales volumes should be similar. Also, it's not only their carbon frames that are expensive as the alloy frames were just as, and more expensive than other brands. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I assume they do their own distribution locally, so I would argue they are overpriced compared to every other imported bike where the frame is also manufactured in Taiwan, and sold to the local agent/distributor. The "because it's a boutique brand" argument is also BS, as generally they are considered to be of better value everywhere else in the world. So whether they are overpriced due to being inherently uncompetitive or having very healthy margins, you can do better buying elsewhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Yeah, there's a whole thread of dishwashers with bicycles already; https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/148185-lady-pros/
  20. Start with p60 grit if your sander is strong enough and/or you need to remove a lot of material. Otherwise 120 and finish off with 240 if you are bored and want it any smoother. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Very nice. Clean european, mid-century design. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Anyone can trace bitcoin. You need Monero to go "underground".
  23. My advice on break ups in general; Leave with your dignity and your balls. If she still wanted to be with you she would have been there, trying to work things out. You have to put yourself in her shoes now and realise that you might have had your last chance to save your relationship quite a while ago. For her to give you another chance now all the sudden after you probably had many already would be naive. And even if you got another chance, ask yourself are you really willing to change and for how long? When the other person is not happy with something about you and expect you to change it (whether a serious flaw or irrational from their expectations) you will always re-enter that relationship on their terms - and that's also not a healthy and can lead to resentment. Going through a breakup can make any stable person turn into the most erratic and emotionally charged individual. Like others have said already, cut off all communication and you won't have to sit back one day and be embarrassed about what you said in your time of desperation. "Desperacy" is a stinking cologne to wear. And whatever you do now will probably just push her further away. Good luck mate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
