  1. I thought I had something similar until I was diagnosed by Jannie Klingbiel at Rosebank (JHB) Sports Clinic with something called Gilmore's Groin. So my 10 Cents is go and see a Bio who knows their stuff and then let them diagnose and rehab you. Mine took 8 weeks and rehab was not intense weird little exercises with a Theraband. Good Luck
  2. I Have an Xterra Vendetta, exactly for this reason of us triathletes with Lazy Legs. Terry is your man, he will sort you out!
  3. Gonna be there for sure, nice little tester before IMBC. With Spectrum organising you know it will happen and will be good.
  4. RACE # are out!
  5. Use Peptopro sport for racing only as it is quite expensive per serving. The taste will only bother u on the first sip, after that my body starts asking for it and it works.
  6. No issues on mine
  7. So how is it different from Pepto Pro Sport?
  8. Yeah, I must say that Rappstar is an emotional choice but he is no fool-this engineer will plan properly, watch him on the bike. Raelert had a thigh injury so not sure if he is 100%. Macca has the speed from his little flirt with Olympic distance...so that is why I think he will beat Crowie. Both are 39 so age isnt an issue.
  9. Who is your money on for the Pro Men: My Predictions: 1. Macca 2. Crowie 3. Jordan Rapp 4. Llanos 5. Andy Potts
  10. @ Thug u were right, I only set HR Settings in Run mode thought is should pull through to all, I know some HR Max etc is different but wasnt an issue -so lesson learnt. Pain in the ass updating it in all the Modes.
  11. Go to Beginnertriathlete and they have a full programme, a bit conservative but will give u an idea: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/trainingplans-list.asp?h=1
  12. They have been going since 2008 I think, totally Legit and a good day out. Nice swim, Flat Bike, Tough Run in the Heat along the Golf Course. Best is the Free entry to the Valley of the Waves..save some energy for that.
  13. When I set it to go into the Bike setting it registers my HR monitor but in the display for %Max it does not show. In the RUN Setting I do the same and it works but not for the Bike...any advice? Yeah I will go to Garmin to fix...but want to know why this happens
  14. Hydration and Sugar Levels and u need to eat after a ride should eliminate it but if this persist see a Dr.
  15. Had a Volcan XC-29, drove it into a garage, cracked the frame so had a good chance to look at the frame....really nt a bad quality bike. Most bikes are in any case Chinese or Taiwanese.
  16. @Seeker 911 and Garfield, I cannot agree more with you re the refs, most of them are on an ego trip and cannot tell true drafting from trying to pass in the masses. Got called for blocking this year on IMSA and when I told the guy he must open his eyes and see that the two guys in front of me were blocking me, he screamed that he'll Red Card me......so much for knowing the rules, if you look at overseas events and how the competitors are treated vs SA, our refs are not up to par and most of them cannot manage real problems like the IMBC 2012 Draftfest. That being said I love the actual event/s and will be there and hope they can sort out the drafting.
  17. On my Tri Bike I have a Sram 11-26 (Especialy for IMBC) as Shimano doesnt do that Ratio and I have no issues. a DA, RD and chain with SRAM Cassette and no issues
  18. As far as I remember and stand to be corrected the route was supposed to be flat and fast but the route was changed. If the route stays the same then it is a double lapper with a stiff climb out of town and no road closure. Prepare to suffer on the bike. Run is flat.
  19. Yeah Caad4, Forrest Gump said: "Stupid is as Stupid does......." I gotta own that one.
  20. Got a roof rack about 3 weeks ago replacing my carrier. William installed it and did a great job So genius here goes and does what belongs in that thread about stupid ass things you do and drives into the garage door with bike on top. Bike trashed, Thule rack suspect, car damaged. Pretty spectacular and I guess I now ticked that box. So I take my car and rack to Thule, Joe one of the guys there tell me: "it's F#cked". William and Joe goes and installs and fixes everything sorts the insurance thing in 20 minutes It is about absolute trust but the fact that everytime I get there but they do things fast and good. These guys are truly the best.
  21. Now reading your questions I realise didnt answer ur questions. So basically wetsuits are rubber with aerated cells. Some have more cells than other in the legs, making them lighter (Like Xterra Vendetta) for triathletes who dont like kicking. But they also need stretch that is where the Yamamoto rubber comes in so it has to be more stretchy at the arms and torso and more neutral in the lower body. So will a better suit make u faster-maybe but it depends on the flexibility in the chest and arms with liteness in the legs so u ride higher in the water and less resistance, but would I pay a lot for like TYR Freak of Nature vs Xterra Vendetta the answer is No, it will not make a hell of a difference. So when u think of that then I would not pay much more but I would invest in a good brand that is value for money and that is where Xterra, Coral and Orca come in. But if I had to choose then for sure Xterra
  22. Terry at Xterra is a great help and the wetsuits are worth it, just adhere to the measurements and if ur unsure size up not down, but u should be able to move comfortably on the ground and in the water the wetsuit should seal between body, water and suit. If water sloshes around inside then its to big. That's why Terry is great-he got my sizing spot on-email him and chat to him. Also heard good things about Orca and got to know the guy who imports the brand on the run during IMSA, ran about the whole marathon with him so had enough time to ask him lots of questions.
  23. This race was by the sounds of it not that great: Water purity issues Death of a competitor on the swim Big crashes Bike Transport And of course the new entry fee mentioned above Just read the Slowtwitch forum and be thankfull for Mr wolfe and his crew here in SA, although no big fan of his referees, IMSA seems a hell of a lot better.
  24. SA's own little Escape from Alcatraz Tri, but looks like there isnt much escaping to do. Nice race for the locals.
  25. @Cavendish U can wash my bike then as well, will make u feel really manly.
