  7. To Drink: Peptopro Sport with a dash of Creatine and eat 32Gi Chews on the Ride-depending on distance. Post Ride-long hours: Cytomax Muscle milk with Glutamine, Try the Chocolate flavour Cytomax, make milkshake..... this is like snot for a 2year old If I cant find Muscle Milk I take Solgar's Whey with Glutamine and then later Solgar MSM.

  9. @ Wonderwoman and @mojopup, yeah exacly what I went thru but I am determined to beat the Virus and am at the stage where I manage the Virus. I agree with you that diet place a vital part. BTW u mentioned something that I forgot to mention is that I started getting depressed which is unlike me, and used a mild natural anti depressant which I would add to the Cocktail mentioned above. I like the hydration advive mojopup mentioned, makes absolute sense.
  10. Slowbee to answer ur questons: does the virus only get hold of your heart? In my experience it attacks muscles that are being stressed. In some cases where it detects a weakness, so many guys place the Heart under Pressure so it attacks that muscle but it attacks anything that is weak, landed of with severe tendinitis I think I can attribute to this. a bit of googling said it can also attack you digestive system as well. As far as I know it spreads two ways: It lives in ur digestive tract and when ur immune system cannot fight it, its on u like a rash. Secondly and this is where u should be carefull Slowbee, (unless the littley is allready grown up (should be around 2 now?) is Faecal contamination, like cleaning babies and then it gets int ur system, or riding MTB and riding thru crap and it spills on ur Bite valve or Bottle and u ingest it. I am not familiar with it attacking the digestive system, but hey this is a very special little Virus so would not put it pass it. It also mutates and apparently goes into ur DNA (Not sure about this though) BTW Kids get this and can hadnle it better than we do...see my theory below. Can you send the blood away yourself for testing, or do you need to have it done through a GP ? GP as the lab tests, but maybe ur missues can test u I have a theory about this Virus, and want to ask the folks who had the virus if they had any kids diseases, mumps, measles etc? The theory is that the injections we got as littlies was so strong that our bodies started to not recognise the real virus's and in it's stupidity started killing off the good cells (Basic and unscientific I know but there is little known about this Virus-so any gues is good)

To be more specific, u head out on the run route out of the gate, then tar for a while and then you turn Right into a secondary road for quite a couple of Km's, then u hit a bit of the Xterra route when u come back but it is really the rideable non technical bits. Just that last rocky hill before u drop off into that last section before u turn right to transition. That is once again of memory serves me.

  15. After having/living with this for 18 Months now here is my inputs: Firtsly: Your Counts it should be below 40 to be acceptable. The strains run from B1-B6 the more I press my Dr for explanantion on this the less Info I get, none of them are especially worse than others. This virus just attacks anything that has weakness or is under stress, hence it's love for the heart. My counts were at 640 for B2, B5, B6. Decided I was not gonna stop and went to John Patricios for advice, training started at below 70% HRMax and I suffered, many days that I felt like just giving up. Ideally you should stop worrying and rest a lot but we all deal with things differently. So I kept on Training and focussing on Building a super duper Immune system as this F#cker mutates and apparently hides in ur DNA, my GP who is quite clued up says that is why it so difficult for your body to destroy it, similarly if u have a stuffed up adrenal gland that does not help either. So what did I do? Kept on training at ;low intensity (Not advisable but that was my choice) Got my Adrenal and Thyroid checked Got the following medication: Colostrum Milk Chews (Similar to the Biestmilch that Macca usues) Adrenal Boost by Solal Co Enzyme Q10 for heart health, use Solal. Food Supplements: I use Aim Barley etc but there is also Green Vibrance Biobalance Immunova Sleep and rest as much as you can...nothing funny to clock 9hours sleep sometimes Monthly Immune Boosting Injection Eat Properly, lots of Veggies and the right food. Finally if you are open to Complimentary medicine there is also SCIO. When last checked my levels as down on one strain but the same on 2 others was still clocking 640's but I feel much better and did not get sick for 5 months.
  16. I Take PURE's Glutamine and Solgar Whey mixed into a Banana smoothy with Nutella or Peanut Butter for Flavour as Glutamine tastses vile. Take MSM capsules also.There is some benefits for recovery, but stretching etc also helps

Yeah Tenille, thanks for the chat and the advice, so one more question: I was speaking to a Sport Nutritionist and he suggested a teaspoon of Creatine (The proper stuff not some of the filth that is floating around) with your Peptopro bottle, apparently it assists in the absorption and ATP Optimisation?
  18. @Garfield ...Well Spotted....LOL The name thing is funny sortof, I suck at every sport I do and when I decided to choose a name I thought that... well it being a cycling forum then WHEEL would fit and "SUCK" is what I do well at sport. So wheelsuck. If this was a running site I would have chosen SHOESUCK i guess....or if it was a swimming site...well then it would just be straight DROWN. NOW With Tri I can suck at 3 Sports at Once.
  19. The refs were nowhere on 70.3 and when they were around they looked flabbergasted at the groups drafting. With almost half the field being new it is just sad that the sport which is an individual sport has now become a draft fest. Same happened at 11 Global where the guys were drafting. Only way to fix this is to get more refs that can pull off a whole bunch, U DQ a big bunch and soon people will learn. But it's tricky to manage drafting and there might be innocent victims so the best is to watch a bunch for a while and pull them off if they have been drafting for a while, so that the real culprits get punished.
  20. It is also what u do before like putting the right minerals in your body look at a product called Vita Mins, that u take before heavy training and racing. What u need for endurance is the correct mix of Carb and Protein plus the usual stuff that goes with it. Peptopro has that mix, tastes like crap the first sip but then ur body sytarts asking for it. I wont use any SA product as there is no regulatary body that actually inspects what goes into the prduct you buy. I throw in one teaspoon of creatine in my bottles with Peptopro just to get the taste really spot on , u need the creatine when u have long or strenious sessions. The Pee thing is nothing but showing that ur body is working like it should. But maybe ur drinking too much or to much before or to much at once, u gotta sip throughout the race not take big gulps.

The B&D Race was going the opposite way of my training route and the bunches were well behaved except for some that ignored the white line and yeah they were tossing stuff around like no tomorrow, why cant they adopt the Tri Rule that if u litter u get DQed. On the way home I made the mistake of driving back on the N14 past the finish, I thought that at 12 there would be little traffic, but at the N14 and HP split some guy in Club 100 kit was walking in the road pushing his bike listening to music. I took my time behind him and as I passed him I told him he must be careful walking in the road, he shouted at me to F#CK OFF etc. Another day of Road cycling in SA I guess

  23. Try to stay Calm, the worst is to be panicky, focus on yourself not the other people. I dont agree with starting the swim at the back rather start out wide from the first bouy and easy toward it, there will in any case be less people out wide. This will give you enough confidence to have a easy start and then you can face the masses. If someone bumps/ pulls etc remember they are just also probably panicking so move away dont get physical.it's not worth it. Find some feet and stay behind them or next to them on their hips or legs, actually better drafting that way I hear. Stay in a rythm, if you are in open water then yes a long stroke helps but in the sea a choppy shorter stronger stroke is better. As u near the end start kicking a bit more to prepare your legs for the vertical. Most of all dont PANIC stay focussed and keep on telling yourself you are relaxed and calm, focus on the stroke and the rest will not be a bother. Good Luck
