Took a ride up to Kaapschehoop from Nelspruit. Ran into some of the locals too.

Only about 22-25km I estimate, but straight up the mountain, with some switchback doping thrown in for good measure

Anyone ridden the whole section from Nelspruit, around old Belladonna Spar to Kaapschehoop? Thinking of taking this on early next week when I'm down in Nellies. I checked on Strava and there is no segment from bottom to top. Would like to know estimated time and total climbing meters. If someone has a garmin file for this section would much appreciate it.

Plus one from my side too. the HR strap used with my Edge 800 started overreading significantly. I changed the battery and updated software and problem persisted. Took it to the guys in Honeydew and they swopped the strap out for a demo model, no charge

I'm moving to Wilgeheuwel near the driving range this coming weekend. Woudl also be keen to join up and ride.

Same happened to mine. Dropped it off at MTN but they indicated 5 days turn around.

Use a website such as XDA developers. There will be tutorials on flashing ROM's. I'm running a custom rom on my S2, actually has less issues than my S4 (back to Samsung after constant rebooting and freezing) I've tried a few but the best ones (for me) was the CM ones.

Rather use one of the courier companies. I used Bike Migration for Argus (R750). Flew my bike down to W2W with Kulula (R255 one way) and ended with bent RD.

Still no results for me on Racetec. The website is also giving errors if you try and use the query option. I've emailed them now with my Garmin file attached. Not that it's going to take the minute or so off I need to break the 3 hours. I measured 3:01....

I use to rotate a few watches, now I only wear my Pebble watch. It connects to your smartphone via bluetooth. It pushes notifications from your phone to the watch.

I always find the traffic around the bottom of Hekpoort a challenge. Last year had a small disagreement with a chop in a FJ Cruiser. He refused to move a meter to the right so I could squeeze past. When he finally did move over, he slowed me down just enough to break my rythm.

W2W a week before should get me through. Might have some lazy legs during the first half of the 94.7.

I was a nice group with some CL riders which formed near the Lion Park. Dropped my chain just past Valverde and that was the end of my sub 3 hopes.

3:12:58 for me. Better than expected. Didn't feel the cold so much as the wind.

Save some for the last 25km odd..... all uphill (almost) and watch out for the Tarlton rumblestrips....

You can try under the liability section of the drivers policy. BUT, their insurance company will first check for merits and also might apportion the blame. Else, small claimscourt?
