There is no reason why it won't be covered by your insurance (subject to the terms and conditions of your policy). The fact that it is a no name brand, has no bearing on the "insurability". If you can replace it for R4000, you just need to specify it for the same amount

That uphill finish was a bit overkill! :-) Did not expect that headwind as we turned off to the satellite station too, ouch! Had no issues with cars but was almost taken out by another cyclist who assumed her bike is smaller than everyone else's, and would fit between 2 of us, not even a sorry afterwards, and then as I passed her she did the ostrich trick, if I don't see you, you can't see me!

How about the shoes on special today at CWC? Suplest, read a review on them and they seem quite comfy.

Try and avoid the cat eyes, riding in the yellow lane you tend to ride over them, by day 3 your butt will feel every imperfection in the road. Our ride was Villiers to Bethlehem, Bethlehem to Bergville, Bergville to Howick and last day from there to Scottborough.

Definately, my knee gave in on day 3 going up Griffeths, itb, doc had to give me a shot at lunchtime. Tried to stick with the group through Nottingham rd but called it uits 15odd km from finish. Next morning knee was stiff but there after it felt like I could cycle up a wall! ;-) We had a support vehicle with each group, so food and drink wasnt an issue. We used mostly energade, diluted with water, with stops every 2 hours or so for snacks. After the lunch break I'd use something like Epic pro followed by another bottle at the end (before the beers come out)

I've done a ride down to Dbn over 4 days, different time of the year though so did not have to complete Ama too. Get use to your saddle, you'll probably be doing 140-170km p/day. The Freestate is not flat, beware the big hills around Estcourt and Mooiriver. If you arent lucky enough to have a physio tag along, take a foam roller along to work out the muscles in your legs. Day 3 will be the worse, there after your body is use to the punishment and you should feel super. Start each morning slow, you probably won't have a choice, till you are nice and warmed up. He bombs it for the first 15 minutes, then gets off and starts fiddling with his seat, walks around the class checking resistance on everyones bikes except his own. Then gets back on his bike and pedals at 90rpm at while everyone else is slaving away at level 9.

... or when you buy a bike and get your measurements wrong? Like me! Confused trouser inseam with cycling inseam, 7cm short!

Crazy thought: If it is cut to short, can't you cut it down and use a normal seatpost with a normal clamp? Defeats the ISP idea but at least you can still ride the bike? If you cut a groove in the seatpost and add a clamp to grip the seatpost. or won't it work as the seat tube is not re-inforced to take a seatpost?

If you are looking at selling it here, probably R10k (but be prepared to haggle!). The guys have previously struggled to sell similar frames only for R4000. I sold mine (with 105) for R5500 so your with better groupset should sell for more.

Same happened to me yesterday! Also, my CC statement shows the transaction authorised, but also got another email from Paypal stating that CRC wants me to use them for payment? Does this mean my payment has not gone through to CRC or is the Paypal mail a hoax?

Insurance is old for new, you might buy a bike for R10k second hand, but if you were to walk into a bike shop on that day and buy the same bike (or current equavalent) brand new, you'd pay R30k as an example. You must insure the bike for the R30k then.
