  1. Other that running the risk of ending up on a fire, why would you say it not safe for training? Is it poluted or something like that? I live in the east and am really battling to find a decent spot for some open swim training
  2. Anyone know what that dam next to the N4 in PTA is called? Its on you left as soon as you go past the Rosslyn offramp heading east. Is it safe for swim training?
  4. I have always wondered what the fuss is about the cannondales. Until my wife got one and I saw the craftsmanship and design. Now I want one! I vote for the dale!
  5. My 2c I order 2 jerseys from them for my wife. Jersey one: She wears a small and I ordered a medium. Fits perfect! Jersey two: Also order a women’s medium but got a mens medium. Way to big for her. The site and the pic says women’s jersey. I contacted them and they offered to mail me a new jersey at a reduced fee. I said that it fine and they can invoice me, but when I received the invoice it said women’s small. Not a medium. I pointed it out to them and they said they will ship a medium I should just pay the invoice. So now I don’t really trust there information and administration. I don’t think I will be taking them up on their offer for the second jersey. A plus is that they are really helpful and respond to e-mails within a day. A negative is that the shipping took a bit long. About 6 weeks but as I read from other hubbers, the shipping time differs from order to order. I don’t think its them. I think its our customs. The jerseys are great quality, but I will stick with order mens jerseys from them only. I think there can be to many mix ups if you buy women’s specific. In my opinion it is worth buying there products
  6. On the Momsen Facebook page I see that they are launching a AL529 as well. XT/SLX with ZTR Crest as well. Anyone have pics of it?
  7. Bike will be available from Aug 2011 accordign to the Momsen site: http://www.momsenbikes.com/ontheboil.cfm
  8. Any word on when the bike will be going on sale? Maybe a rumour of a price? If you look at the other Momsen prices it should be really well priced. Maybe in the region of 25K?
  9. I see on the momsen site is just a short piece of info on the SL 729: http://www.momsenbikes.com/ontheboil.cfm Jip, not much I know.
  10. So my wife and I did a trail run on Sunday and the timing was done by Racetime. At registration there was a mix up with my timing card and my wife’s timing card. I did the longer distance and she the shorter one. When the race results were published my time was listed as a DNF with her race number and she wasn’t listed at all. So I sent them an email on Monday morning. Later that morning Justin replied saying that he corrected my time but can not find the time for my wife. I couldn’t reply to him with more details due top a problem with our e-mail, and this morning Justin phoned me to give me the feedback. We had a chat and he managed to trace the time for my wife as well. I think this is excellent service from Racetime and Justin. There will always be human error involved in big events, what set companies like Racetime apart from the rest is how they handel these issues. Its the extra effort from Justin with the quick response to e-mails and the phone call that makes a huge difference Great job Racetime!
  11. Used it this morning on IE. But the dates and times are buggered. Anyone have a contact for customs? I want to query the status of a parcel?
  12. I ordered 2 items for my wife on 04/10/2011, but still no package yet. I phoned the post office and got a tracking number a while ago but I can not seems to get hold of the people at customs. The number that the post office gave just keeps ringing. Does anyone have a contact number for me to find out what the delay might be at customs?
  13. Will the talk be on base-training only?
  14. What is your facebook name? I can not seem to find FRAIL I'll take a Raffle ticket. Is EFT fine? What reference should I use?
  15. Great race! Anyone know where we can get the photos?
  16. Sorry for the typing errors. Im using my phone
  17. So i took my fork in for the service. Paid the 750 but unfortunatley it was still buggerd. So I took it back an they did more stuff to it ( sorry i dont know the technical stuff). First service they replaced the rings or something like that and the second time they replaced seals or something. Still the fork did the same. Then i took it to another bike shop. More money and still not fixed. The problem is that that the fork seems fine at first and has a rebound, but after a couple of km it just sag's and goes to the bottom of the rebound. It only happens on flat terrain and not on the bumpy stuff. When i get of the bike it bounce the fork around it recovers the travel and gies to about 80mm but when it aplly constant pressure it goes to aboit 20mm. What can be wrong? Is it time for a new fork. Its done about 6000km.
  18. Its a lekker ride but include it in a different route. The area around it safe. I have only heard of one incident in the last year
  19. After following this topic yesterday, I decided to give the morning training a go. I usually training in the afternoons but with the imminent winter and it being dark at 6 already, training in the mornings might not be such a bad idea. So last night I got everything set up so that it everything is ready to go this morning. The alarm went off at 4:45. I thought screw this and reset the alarm to a more humane hour. I will be sticking to training in the afternoons.
  20. Nope, about 50km (to the N4)
  21. Thanks for the info GT Man. In what sequence is the event? MTB, run, canoe and then obstacle course?
  22. So who is doing the kinetic adventure race this sunday? I'm doing it for the first time and it looks like its going to be good fun.
  23. Hey Mark, I saw the Niner on your other post. Great looking bike! In my opinion the best looking bike around. Just one thing regarding the XX. If you say you battle on the hills with the Niner, wont it be better to go for a 3 X 10 rather than the 2 X 10? Wouldn't you find the extra gears handy in the accents? I heard that allot of riders that used 2 X 10 on a 26, prefer going for a 3 X 10 on a 29'r. Was just wondering? For when I one day get my Air 9!
  24. I mailed shop.titusti.com yesterday and go t a reply this morning. They do ship to SA at a cost of 475USD. That is alot but if you add it to the total it is 1697USD (R11352 @ 6,69 $/R). Adding import duties of 15% adds up to R13055. Still a great deal me thinks!
