  1. Yeah whilst reading it I also heard the till ringing. The event write up makes it look like a great opportunity to cycle the path less traveled.......
  2. Wow, what a lot of info. Been banting now for 8 weeks or so. Feel really great although I believe I have dropped carbs to low too quickly so playing a bit with maybe taking 70-100 g per day and not below 50 where I was. I started hitting walls on my bike and it has not happened before. Question: Where can I find a fat bomb recipe? Used to have 1 where you mix it and freeze it in an ice cube bag. I lost the recipe, would like to use it as an alternative to gels if anyone has such a recipe. Thanks
  3. Great video. I ride the spruit but you guys are clearly on a different level. I have a lot to learn......suddenly feels like I am the lycra clad old man going at sub 10 km/h.........thanks for the inspiration.

  6. Sweating Bullets......goodness
  7. Plenty of great areas to ride in Pretoorsdorp. Lots of groups and clubs to join and like others have mentioned I also do a lot of "solo" riding on my own in the East. Stay alert and let others know where you off to. Welkom.
  8. Wolwespruit
  9. There fixed it
  10. Yip I am a lycra clad hard tail 80km 2500m kind of guy. Nervous of downhills and would rather go up than down and I am no racing snake. I have no idea what rad or gnarly means but I do know that the more I ride a bike the more I seek out trails where I can maybe do some things I have not done before...it is a slow progress. I enjoyed reading the article, comments and looking at the awesome pictures. Kudo's to all involved, it looks like a special discipline that tests the limits, and rewards that test with a massive sense of achievement and cameraderie as is clearly displayed in the article and photo's. Is that not what life is about? Finding your "thing" and working with it and allowing others to find their "thing" and working with it.......despite some of their "thing" that might not appeal to you......anyway that is what I think. Will keep an eye on the enduro thing......it might just suck me in.
  11. Thanks for pointing that out......ahem........I had such a good chuckle now....
  12. Nello: I have the same question so thanks for asking it.....and I hope I am not hijacking your thread. I have a hard tail and I have done most of the Ashburton and Trailseeker Marathons and some other events over 70+ km's this year. Is it an upgrade to go soft tail or is it a totally different ride? I am considering the change but I am not sure why. Softer ride? Better efficiency? More confident on down hills? What are the benefits? Will also appreciate some input.
  13. How brief........?
  14. I really like this story, all the right ingredients for #HumanSpirit. Sport really brings people together. Good luck for the Epic Anneke, of course you will make it.
  15. I know nothing about these things, I have no indoor trainer, can I use the program outdoors and with HR monitor and GPS only?
  16. Well done Jules. Congrats and I hope you love every moment. I am sure you will!
