Maybe you should change your name. I would ride with you if you gave me tax refunds otherwise it would take lots of convincing! After a ride and seeing my bike the taxman might decide he wants more of my money!
Same here. I practiced with one foot on the ground until I got clip in and out. Then practiced with the other foot. Only then did I try riding and clip in and out while moving.
It won't really be a hit and run because he stopped. You can claim medical expenses from the road accident fund but since you medical expenses are not likely to be high enough to be worth it. As for damages to your bike you could claim from insurance or if they don't want to pay then the driver of the 4x4.
I agree Willehond. It comes down to honour and good sportmanship. As Paul Sherwan says, "Fair play goes out the window." It is not just in cycling that you have those unwritten rules. There was a similar rule in soccer if you watched the world cup at all. They could've played on when a player was down but they played the ball out. People remember Landis' doping for his Tour 'win". People remember Vino's doping after his spectacular stage "win". People don't remember the clean white sheets but the tainted stains on them.
