  1. Mobile site is working well for me on iOS. No menus popping up as others have said and I like the new cleaner look.
  2. That's one hell of a single speed bike !
  3. Damn, you just scored a sweet deal ! Enjoy and preach that flat pedal gospel bro
  4. Woah there cowboy, take it easy. Firstly I was lucky enough to buy a second hand bike and the wheels had non removable cores so that wasn't an option for me. Secondly I'm not sure why it's such a bad idea, I get loads of thorns where I ride and this has never ruined the integrity of my tyres, sticking a needle into the tyre is kinda the same as a thorn don't you think ? Maybe I'm wrong and if this was terrible advice and the person who I gave it to has now totaled their bike I do most humbly apologize. Seriously though if this is super bad for the tyre please let me know and also how cos I have been doing it for ages and would rather buy new valves than ruin my tyres and have to replace them
  5. Next time, if you just topping in an already beaded tyre, you can avoid all this frustration by instead of unseating the tyre just go to your chemist and buy the biggest syringe with the fattest needle, deflate your tyre and just inject the sealant right through the tread into the tyre. This has worked for me but I would not suggest injecting through the side wall.
  6. I wouldn't suggest seating with a removed valve simply because That would obviously allow the tyre to deflate as soon as you remove the pump and I like to keep mine inflated at a pretty high pressure overnight after seating to make sure it's sealed well. This might be unnecessary on my part though
  7. You should be able to seat with a floor pump even with the valve in. You just gotta pump hard and fast. The soapy water method should help a lot when using the floor pump. I have never been able to seat with a hand pump though, no matter how hard I try Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I have seated all my tyres at the local BP but the compressors there do not support presta valves. All you need is the little valve converter though that you should be able to pick up at any lbs or even sportsmans warehouse. If you having trouble getting the tyre to seat take a sealable container with some water mixed with sunlight and a cloth and wipe this solution on the inside of the bead and the rim before inflating. This helps the tyre to seat easier and will also make bubbles anywhere there is air leaking so you can gently bump that area of the tyre on the ground to get the sealant to penetrate that area better
  9. Also make the last section of tyre you put on is the section at the valve. The valve takes up more space than you'd think and makes the tyre tighter to seat.
  10. My bike hasn't taken me anywhere in a week, sick as a dog. Oh wait, I think there is a thread for that…
  11. Grammar nazis incoming !
  12. I have a set of the giant flats and for the price they pretty good. Mine have taken quite a beating and still run smooth but if I was you and had the R1500 limit I would go for the saints. Not only do they look really good but I have only heard good things. Otherwise if you a fan of blue and they still available have a look at these https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/191035-hope-f20-flat-pedals/
  13. That's gotta be the metaphor of the month !
  14. So bummed, been hit with the flu on commute day…haven't been sick in ages but it strikes today…
  15. Please note that the above worked for me but is probably not the experts reccomended route to take. Cable cutters will work best. Been running mine for around 3 months since installing and no problems whatsoever. But thought I should probably throw in a disclaimer of sorts.
  16. They worked fine for me especially on the inner cable, as long as they not dented on the cutting section. Like I said, the cable housing was super strong so it was tough to cut through and I couldn't get it with just the pliers. The water pump pliers clamping down on the handles of the regular pliers gave me enough leverage to make it through though
  17. Yeah, the barrel adjuster ( that's the word I was looking for)is connected to the flex cable and is a separate entity to the regular cable housing. As soon as you loosen the internal cable from the switch you will see that it just slides off. Then you cut the regular cable housing
