Actually there is a lot of elites that do ride with one and the race is judged and timed!!!!! So i don't know where you get this statement from as all riders must ride with one. There was a time when it was said that the elites don't have to use chips' date=' but that was years ago! If there is queries you can actually use the chip time as evidence, which has been done couple times in the past. [/quote'] Actually study the UCI rules. A chip cant always be used to sort out problems and thats why the finish of all licenced races are suppossed to be filmed.

Why stress about timing chips if memory serves me right the elite ladies race is judged and not timed. Often the elites will not even use chips.
