  1. just vomited in my mouth, thanks Jewie
  2. Making me feel the softy I am - too many bush adventures in my surfing youth - I leave Tuesday for a 6 day trip and it’s B&B to B&B - serious bargains out there at places I wouldn’t normally stay
  3. This seemed like the right place to show off this kit a friend gave me, mahala Slowbee the diverge is exactly what you need and I’m Just about the furthest from a Spaz fanboy anyone could be - it’s a great bike
  4. That’s a long ride to ease yourself back in - hope it was pain free
  5. Top tip was wondering about music
  6. You've probably posted but can I see a pic of your set up please I leave for my first trip on Tuesday and I don't want to be over packed - how much weight are you carrying including bike? I am horribly under prepared in terms of fitness and my mental game is weak at best. I'll be riding solo on a route prepared by Benky - his tour was 3 days with a leatherman in his pocket and pack of chewing gum - mine is 6 days on the exact route B&B to B&B I'm excited and terrified because If I can't see the sea I lose all sense of direction I'll be riding from Hoekwil to Stellenbosch
  7. Garden route gravel. Unseasonably grey skies and green fields
  8. I have some crank bros I’ll try - shitmano will ruin my bike
  9. They are great for walking - my thinking is for touring so I need to make them work - I really want to do a nice tour soon
  10. I will try that - need a few mm's though but worth a try.
  11. Tried these out fro the first time today - put them on and felt so comfy until I pulled out of my driveway Not sure if it's my look x track pedals but they rub on the crank (see the white on my crank) Adjusted the cleats every way I could but it doesn't help It's like I need my pedal extended out - They can't have overlooked this on their design so I will do a bit of googling but I'm not changing my pedals So unhappy as they really look the business and would be great for touring
  12. Leroy Merlin or Gelmar both have what you need
  13. fabric dye doesn't work - it might be less noticeable but there will still be a contrast Must be really nice shorts that this would bother you - just going to get dirty again I'd suggest a surf in salt water but A - you live in Gangsters Paradise B - Beki says no to surfing but yes to malls
  14. I got my Malva and custard filled belly dropped off in Knysna this morning and followed the 7 passes home for a super hot and hilly 70km (I round up) This is from Phantom pass - I know the chainring is supposed to face the camera but my OCD has a problem with that law. I have to face my bike in the direction I'm travelling According to my Garmin I climbed 1402m in my 67km at a blistering 17,4km average (think a few stops may be included or I am really slowing down) The average temp for my ride was 30.7 which is toasty around here and my bright red face is proof. I bonked properly at 50 as I decided to skip breakfast. Skipping food has not been happening much recently If I keep up this start and stay away from the nougat, lindt balls, rusks, custard, nik naks, third helpings and beer then I might have a fighting chance
  15. 50km in PE is usually like 100 anywhere else unless you get a rare windless day
  16. Today I’m grateful I have a killer bike and the gravel tracks to let it shine
  17. As a rule I’m pretty fit and generally hang around 5kgs over my super fit weight - more like ten, my chin and belly get weight first and on a call to my mate in Ireland the other day he said “you’re looking well mate, been eating pudding?” So I’m keeping that name until I have one less chin
  18. Close the roads, batch of one, ME!
  19. first shot is Daleworthy
  20. Sitting on a tree stump wondering why I drank so many beers the day before a long ride in 30 degree heat
  21. For me this is an incredibly tough challenge - I’ve had the outlaws here and I do the cooking - also have a big plot and my man Matthews is on leave and I have 12 animals I’m not a massive drinker but over this period I drink to cope with family dynamics - add to the fact that the house is full of leftovers and chocolates and I’m a weak minded pig I do 500km a month - I’m doing this and it’s tight but it’s to stay sane, make a futile attempt to keep my belly in check and get away from the madness that this “holiday” week is at my house
  22. No hooters, no anger, just gravel bliss
  23. Had these on a Pyga and they were great - great service and good value option
  24. These are similar pretty basic wheels but the second set are boost so won’t work for you and I don’t think the hubs would either Have a look at rapide who have decent good value wheels
