  1. Had these on a Pyga and they were great - great service and good value option
  2. These are similar pretty basic wheels but the second set are boost so won’t work for you and I don’t think the hubs would either Have a look at rapide who have decent good value wheels
  3. They are called soft tops - check out pollywog.co.za
  4. Another stunner
  5. I thought the only difference was the fork? Purely observed when comparing my stage to my mates max same rear RCT3 and same frame But I'm the least bike technical person in the world
  6. serious calves Fanie
  7. I won’t be rushing to the start and I’ll be stopping for lunch - definitely a year to pull out classic steel
  8. Garden route dam
  9. my exact sentiments Francois, you are often in my thoughts reminding me to be grateful
  10. Just a perfect morning here in Eden - we’ve had so much rain and the colours are just so crisp I’m going to post the following a few times but here’s the first - get a garmin varia because knowing what’s coming is life changing
  11. I pretty much swapped it for a house (semi uninhabitable) with 3 hectares of land I had an 84 3.2 carrera at the same time (to me the ultimate user friendly and best 911) which I sold to build our house I've had a few but there was a period where they really weren't sought after and genuinely affordable - that changed and I have a nice little home and no Porsches. I do miss them and even though there are only 3 of us, we can't live in a 911 (maybe I could/would) Life has changed, no complaints, I had a few at the right time in my life
  12. 1967 912
  13. Watched this yesterday - I’m Lachlan’s stalker - I’m an older fatter slower less hairy less cool version of him in my deluded mind
  14. My purchase here was some block mounting - on my birthday a few weeks ago these two beautiful sketches arrived in the post from a fellow hubber - I'd admired one and asked if he'd be interested in selling it to me. He wasn't and instead sent me two. I won't mention his hubname name here because I don't want him inundated with commissions But thanks Dawid
  15. Where I live my keys are permanently in the ignition. I bought the variant because the condition was immaculate but it’s the rare fuel injected model - in 2 years I have never driven it without breaking down - changing to twin carbs but it’s complicated and I’m not mechanical
  16. Glorious garden route gravel
  17. you'd be blown away by how many of your "top tier" brands are made in the exact same factory as Mr Price stuff using the same thread and same fabric You are generally paying high for your subtle branding - not all brands but by far the majority and definitely the listed ones. I got some Rapha T's for my birthday - I love them and the quality is great. Thought I'd get a couple more for myself as I was buying a bib. When I saw the price I went off to woolies As an aside, the eye wateringly priced bib is the most comfortable one I've ever owned. Sadly the branding hides below some old baggies and whatever smelly T'shirt I can find. I save my lycra look for the Argus
  18. permanently parked at my mechanics workshop
  19. that bike is so insane I'd almost trade Dave in for it and accept a case of corona
  20. not to personally attack you but this statement is so incorrect Most people do want to be walking billboards or at least mini walking billboards - otherwise clothing and footwear brands wouldn't exist I'd buy an assos casual item but I need a new car and it's one or the other
  21. your bikes are seriously beautiful and the detailing is outstanding
  22. Seems the best way to get a new bike now is collect parts and transfer parts and buy the frame you want - 115k builds you a better bike than this GX Merida with a bit of shopping around
  23. We don’t have the cars giving you a wide berth thing happening here and the resurfacing of part of my route plus good rainfall has seen the local farmers all upgrade their white bakkies - it’s the farm and furious here sometimes
  24. Holiday season coming, the white bakkies, timber trucks and milk trucks. Admittedly not many but I'd rather not be a sad statistic so I am upping my visability. It can't hurt apart from the dent in the wallet The varia for the rear is because sometimes I'll ride for an hour with no cars around and then someone sneaks up behind and I sh!t myself
  25. upgrading my onboard safety
