  1. My suggestion for the shirt would be to look at other sports - specifically motorcross, as they have similar style of clothing. As cycling has turned into the new golf. Not sure what the cycling specific shirts go for, as I'm still wearing a good old t-shirt You might want to go size the shirts though as they are meant to be worn with armor underneath. Can get shirts from about R470 for MX ones. https://bikerswarehouse.co.za/rider-accessories/?categories=7&sub-categories=18&SingleProduct=6187 Maybe even look at paintball suppliers or similar to get the "tactical" shirts as they are also nicely vented.
  2. Not shimano, but the look type. If you want.
  3. Anyone have any spare 29" tubes after tubeless conversion maybe? In Randburg area? I'm converting back to tubes I recall cyclelab was at one point selling their tubes for like R20, but haven't found any other places doing the same
  4. Why not get this? https://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/product/polar-h10-heart-rate-sensor It stores the HR data for the session, and you can upload from there. Or pair it with your phone and use with the app of your choice? Vitality supports polar: https://www.discovery.co.za/portal/individual/vit-partner-polar
  5. Or, if you're really lazy. Download the GPX file from your device site, open it up in Notepad++ look for the HR field, change the first one to you desired BPM and delete the rest. Don't have vitality, so not tested there, but have tested on sportstracker and it shows the first HR then as average.
  6. Anyone using the polar app with a BT HR belt? Would that work? Run the app for the first 5 minutes then leave phone in pocket or something?
  7. What happens if you have a ANT+ capable phone? Can you pair that to the sensors and then the info displays on the device via BT?
  8. Is there a link to the lawyers action that has been mentioned?
  9. Futurama did it.. http://comedycentral.mtvnimages.com/images/shows/Futurama/V_series/ftr_108_smelloscope_v6.jpg
  10. Not quite: The first team to cross the finish line wins$ 750 000. The second team to cross the finish line wins $ 100 000. The 3rd team wins $ 50 000. The 4th team through to the 10th team each win an entry into next years race.
  11. Fsck me..... My balls crept up in search of safety..
  12. Couple of crazies using Unic cycles to go down a mountain.. http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--SA2WX7-L--/islvzbukqhid1dfhiwea.gif
  13. I had this at a pick and pay. They had two boxes of pots in somewhat dsetroyed boxes, standing on a shelf marked R289. Load up a box as it is a well known brand that normally goes for a LOT more. Get to the till and sure enough the price rings up as R1499.. They honored the price on the shelf. So I received like R1200 discount...
  14. First post.. Smells like advertising..
  15. Uber cool means it stays cooler than ICE TEC, so of course it beats it in performance. Simple science really.
  16. They have a lot of options it seems.. http://www.dubairoadsters.com/events_safeplacetoride.html
  17. According to one of the fitters at the cycle lab megastore, who worked there for a while, he said that one of the shaiks' sons is quite into cycling, and he had his dad/uncle whatever build him that track.. He also echoed the sentiments that cycling is very big over there. My opinion, seeing as there is a lot of desert, could be one of the biggest fat bike markets
  18. What we do not want. "In conclusion, having test ridden the Santa Cruz Tallboy on all my usual routes in and around Gauteng, I can conclude that it is a terrible bike when compared to the Specialized Venge. Not only is it heavier the wide tires make a hell of a racket." Or the reverse.. "Thus my review for the Specialized Venge concludes. It was absolutely fscking terrifying using this bike down normally tame trails, the brakes perform admirably but the tires were a mission to convert to tubeless, while not having enough sealant to properly seal more than 3 punctures. I much prefer my Santa Cruz.."
  19. Well, ideally I'd think you'd want a wide variety of people so you know they're testing the bikes properly. I mean no point in having someone scared to go down a hill at full tilt, testing a long travel enduro bike or fork.
  20. Deffo fake.. : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Santa-Cruz-Nomad-Carbon-650B-XX1-build-RRP-6200-/171425187703?pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item27e9bcc777

Here is a run down of the spec; Nomad Carbon 650B frame - Aqua blue/Magenta Rockshox Monarch plus debonair - Awesome bit of kit Rockshox Pike RCT3 forks - Grey decals rather than magenta pictured. SRAM XX1 groupset SRAM Guide brakes - Brilliant bit of kit Mavic Crossride wheelset Maxxis High Roller II tyres Renthal Fat bar handlebars Selle Italia saddle Easton Haven stem Rockshox Reverb stealth seat post Lock on grips Pedals - none supplied. For R21 000.. Seems a bit cheap..
  22. He mentions Fox fork in the ad, but it's a rockshox fork in the pictures, someone selling a bike like this should know those things.
  23. Also, overheard a salesman in Cyclelab Fourways this weekend, telling a customer that the cannondales will be going on special form the 25th of this month.
  24. I've got one. Quite happy, no issues to report
