  1. Couldn't agree more. I think a lot of people don't realise that we are coming off one of (if not) the lowest interest rate cycles in years. The sad reality is that a lot of people took this as an opportunity to amass credit (yes some didn't have a choice due to Covid) without realising/understanding that the rate will eventually go up to a normalised level.
  2. McNulty setting a cracking pace
  3. As mentioned, I really feel for the youngsters of today. Back in the mid 90's, I bought my first property (a 60m/sqr1 bed garden apartment) in Morningside, Sandton for R155 000. (less than a high end bike now days). Advice given by my folks was to look for the worst house in the best area as you can always improve on the property and not the area. Those same apartments are now selling for over R1million. Not many youngsters in their mid 20's can afford a bond in excess of R1 million which makes it extremely difficult to break into the property market.
  4. So thankful that I am still able to work from home. My fuel saving is huge and that saving is at least covering other expenses
  5. With everything on the rise, it is becoming more and more difficult for households to save for rainy days. I put away part of monthly income into savings but am now having to reduce that amount to just cover living expenses. With the July increase in municipal rates, it is just going to get worse. Its that old saying were the rich get rich and the working class feel the pinch.
  6. Have an inkling that Froome Dawg might go in the break?
  7. Hopefully not another rider out with Covid?
  8. The now defunct trails of Mankele MTB park. Now that they are under new management, hopefully it can be restored to its original state
  9. Perhaps not as comfortable on cobles as we thought he might be? Burning question is will MCN be in the break today for the 5th day running?
  10. You should of politely said, 'A human being who has no respect for cyclists....'
  11. Just proves that she is guilty as sin.
  12. We are off to Sudwala for a few days and am looking at taking the road bike. How safe is it to ride from Sudwala to Sabie and surrounds? Thanks
  13. Another possible alternative is to maybe place a washer or two under the towball to lift it slightly higher from the mount.
  14. Warranty on the Suito is only 12 mnths in SA. So if the trainer is older than 12 mnths then I would see no issues in trying to do the clean and lube yourself.
  15. Even Wimbledon is being affected with some players having to withdrawal due to +ve tests
  16. Looks as if all the V3RS on on a per order only basis with lead times of 150 days plus when googling some of the European sites. Maybe John can pull a cat out the hat and organise an ex UAE team bike....
  17. Listening to Impey's post, he was totally asymptomatic and even joked that if had to be retested tomorrow, he would probably show as negative. I just hope that it doesn't get out of control and that riders start getting pulled left, right and center
  18. Looks as if Covid is having the last laugh again. Impey out with Covid. No symptoms what so ever but tested positive. Wonder how may more will be pulled as a result.
  19. Gel Deep Cycle from Maiden Electronics. R3850 to be exact
  20. Two new batteries for our inverter. R4000 each. Forgot how expensive they are.
  21. Looks as if most of the teams have opted for more climbing specific options
  22. Hi Guy. It would help if you be more specific WRTO what event etc.
  23. I also had a blue one in the mid 80's. Made me stick out like a sore thumb at our home made BMX track when compared to all the boys and girls on their Mongoose, Redline, GT etc.
  24. I am by far no expert on BMX's but just looking at the condition, I would say not more than a few hundred bucks
  25. $$$$$$$
