  1. Just for Dale 🤑
  2. Simple method is to ensure calorie intake is less than calories burned on a daily/weekly basis.
  3. To remain healthy and injury free. Cycling Goals: - Race to the sun - K2C - JHB-DBN - Amashova - Ride Joburg
  4. Not a Strava fan. Still managed 7214 KM from Jan to October. November and December were total write offs with first injury then Covid.
  5. Map of Africa
  6. Reinet, there is no shame what so ever in how you deal with the grief of a loved one.
  7. Saw on his Instagram that he and his family were armed robbed on the 27th November by 4 thugs.
  8. This is absolutely heartbreaking. RIP Francois. May his friends and family find peace in knowing that his pain and suffering has finally subsided.
  9. Would of loved to have given it a go with us being down in the Wilderness. Unfortunately, the dreaded Covid, has put pay to any high intensity bike rides for the rest of the year
  10. Sound advice. Will definitely go that route as well as listening to my GP.
  11. Yes. Our kids contracted it at school and it was inevitable that we would get it as well.
  12. With all the non cycling forums being deactivated and searching for any previous threads that cover the Covid Recovery and getting back on the bike, I hope that I am not duplicating any previous threads that may exist. So having succumbed to the dreaded Covid and only on day 6, I would like to know from other Covid sufferers what there getting back on the bike process was? Being fully vaccinated, symptoms are thankfully quite mild in Covid terms, more of a severe head cold than anything else. That said, I can definitely feel that the body has taken a major knock as just the simple task of hanging up washing, washes (no pun intended) me out.
  13. As the saying goes, a fork is a fork .......
  14. + 1 for Craig. Operates out of Cycle Lab Fourways
  15. I have a couple but based in JHB. Sure your LBS will be able to help out
  16. I can officially fall into the DNS category due to injury.
  17. My last little rant on the Emma Pallant saga. As an elite rider you would think that she would of done a recon of the course etc. Yes the track may of not been available for recon but you would think that you would still familiarize yourself with the logistics of entry and exit. Case in point with the lead vehicle driver. As with the riders, they of all people you would think would be familiar with the course. What I do find strange is that there appears to be no other riders (racing vets) anywhere near to her when she enters the track? this could of possibly alleviated any confusion. A lesson for the organizers next year - put a barrier fence there so as to ensure no directional confusion/mishaps
  18. Thanks for the clarity.
  19. Got this from my Sis in Law this morning. The road down to the Wilderness. f2a90f94-639b-400f-b037-e779239d5700.MP4
  20. The pic that Emma posted on her FB page and her write up is clear as mud. Honestly anyone in that situation would of done exactly the same. I really feel for her and quiet honestly think she got screwed over. The top pic is the cone position when she hit the track. Bottom is when the lead men went through. Makes one wonder if the cone perhaps became dislodged in the time between and someone replaced it in the incorrect spot...
  21. Unfortunately I value my marriage more???? Also would have to win the Lotto first
  22. Looking at there website, +/- 7500 euros (R135000)
  23. Awesome looking bike.
  24. Although not riding, still went to collect my number (after all I did pay for it). Collection was a breeze. In and out within 10 mins. Expo is not even worth a visit as others have mentioned. Only decent stall is the coffee station which funny enough was the only stall that had people waiting at it.
  25. Primarily rest and strapping. Initially went for some physio and needling sessions to reduce the inflammation (had what is termed Crepitus) Been only 3 1/2 weeks rest of a +/- 6 week rest period so not worth the risk. If I was in my 20's would of probably ignored the advice and ridden, but being in my 50's have learnt to listen to my body and the wife ????
