  1. I mainly want to print functional parts to support my other hobbies. I wanted to go with the Ender 3 for the relatively low price so I did not even consider the Ender 5. The main advantage seems to be additional stability of the frame and the bed that only moves in the z-axis. I will see what I can find after lockdown and take it from there.
  2. Would you also mind sharing typical cost of printing, maintenance etc?
  3. Are you happy with the Ender 3? I am looking at buying one after lockdown. The price for a new stock one seems to be around R4500 would you recon it's the best printer in this price range? Where did you buy your printer?
  4. I have floor to wall steel shelving to store larger items and boxes. I'm specifically looking at a solution to store hand tools in something like a drawer system. The architectural drawers might be an alternative. Those roll away drawers are quite expensive but seem like a worthwhile investment.
  5. I'm subscribed to his channel, pretty cool idea. We are renting so I'm trying to limit holes in the wall.
  6. We recently moved and I want to do something different with tool storage. In the old house I had it up on the wall. I am now considering one of those mechanic tool cabinets on castors. I'm mainly considering this because I have woodworking, bike and other general tools to store. I don't have much space because I'm sharing a single garage with a car. How are your tools stored and what other options would you recommend?

Seeing as most of us are at home we can share our bike rooms or workshops. We moved recently and I am looking for ideas for bike storage and workshop setup/layout.
  8. I am looking for a 27.5+ 3" tyre, my rear tyre is passed repairing but I am planning on upgrading the wheelset in the coming months to a 29" set so don't really want to spend on a new tyre now.
  9. Thanks, my question is what oil I should use. I am not too familiar with wood finishes.
  10. My guess for the purple was also purple heart and the light I thought it was oak. The light wood does not give off the oak smell when planing.
  11. I made this ring box from pieces of wood I received from someone, some spots still need some work and some angles need squaring up. I am curious what type of wood the red and dark wood are? Both are quite hard and dense. My actual question is what should I use to finish it with?
  12. As far as I know the pumped storage scheme is still used to reduce load shedding for COCT. The problem at the moment is that there is not enough excess power during the night to pump the water back up the mountain so there is no generating capacity during the peak hours from the pumped scheme.
  13. I'm looking for a hand saw to cut smaller pieces with. What saw would be worthwhile to get at a reasonable price? I was looking at the ryoba type saws on toolcraft, but most of them are out of stock. I'm building a ring box using hand tools and I need to split the wood for an inlay and to later cut the lid from the base.
  14. 18. Only mint coloured bikes can be sold "as mint condition".
  15. What would be the best solution to run my router and fibre box for the duration of load shedding? I'm looking for the best solution and the cheapest. A UPS will set me back around R1500 but what are the alternatives?
  16. AFAIK Medupi is only capable of producing around a third of the electricity of what its supposed to generate due to poor construction and installation quality.
  17. On a positive note, the drop-down menus are back.
  18. My bad, I took 0 degrees as legs being straight or normal to the floor. So the angle the legs bend and not the angle between the femur and tibia.
  19. I cannot refuse to agree with anything Josh is saying due to his sheer ignorance. This is also not me agreeing with him, however, if your legs are parallel to the floor in a squat your knees will be bent more than 90°, say around 95-105° if I had to guess. If your legs were bent less than 90° when your legs are parallel you would probably fall backwards if you squat with enough weight. And yes school today is easier than it was a few years back. University stats back up that claim with the amount of students struggling in first-year.
  20. I have a question regarding the inspection of a cracked carbon bike, do you only inspect the crash area or do you inspect the whole bike? Also what method do you use to pick up on cracks in the frame after a crash?
  21. What was the outcome Hairy?
  22. Out of curiosity, what would a shop quote on a repair like this, considering multiple cracks and possibly a crack fork steerer? As Bogus said it is not just a simple lap and pap job.
  23. My conclusion from the video is to get the Sony WF-1000XM3 buds he spoke about in the videos which will be cheaper or at the very least the same price as the air pods. He mentions that they are superior in every way except for basically the size of the case and connecting to a device which you do once when you get the earphones.
  24. This guy is brilliant, he does metal covers of all genres of music.
