PB for me yesterday as well...would have loved to stick with the front of A but lost my car keys going over the N1 and had to turn around to go and look for them. Luckily someone picked them up and saw me looking for something....huge thanks to that spectator!

It is terrible that someone just drives away! He should get a harsher sentence, how can you hurt someone whether by mistake or just stupidity and drive away....guilt must kill you. I wish her all the best and a speedy recovery

If you look for something you will find it...to support views, yours is one of cycling the opposite way being the safest. The majority of people on here who cycle regularly will say with the flow as it has worked for years and will continue to work for many more to come. Statiscally more people should be hit by vehicles or have accidents around Gauteng this time of the year as masses are preparing for 94.7

I have set cycle routes that I know are safe by either having a proper emergency lane or were I know the lane is wide enough. If you are hit by a cyclist head on you are going to get badly hurt just as much as with a car physics tell us that. I get very pissed with people riding the wrong way thinking this is better. You reckon you have more time to see what a vehicle is doing? Well I will bet your chances are probably the same with reaction times....there are reasons that society have set rules like this . Anyway does not matter what anyone says seems some minds are made up and just need some reinforcement from others to make them believe they are right

They find a way around this after 3 years trust me happend to me and it was not my fault, they said it is normal metal fatigue

The Advendurance races have got this right so why can't they?

Ah the joys when motorcyclists put on their leather jackets and become bad asses all of a sudden, hope the motorcyclist in the accident is ok!

I still can't see how the race organizers reckon Waterfall Estates and the surrounds can handle that amount of people!

I reckon a lot of things are overpriced which is cycling related but the guys must obviously know that people are willing to pay that price. Think back how many of us bought cycling t-shirts from events with your first couple of events

Really do you guys reckon runners moan just as much about races? Surely not not as all events just keep growing....you enter a cycle race because you want to measure yourself against other riders point! So don't expect a goodie bag...most of the things in it go to the garbage bin. I have competed in many ASG events from the 1st up to now and must say in the beginning they were below par but recently they have done an excellent job

I have done a couple of rides there in the last 3 weeks and no problems, although I won't say it is entirely safe

One was riding on the edge of the left lane the others were in the emergency lane, would you still have had a rant if they all were riding abreast in the emergency lane. At least they were out training.

To many people on there high horses here that I can well foresee do not practice what they preach by their responses. Lets take Botha Avenue from Lyttleton to Fountains as an example. Basically all the trafic lights going to PTA are 3 way, many cyclists and I think the majority actually who train in PTA cycle down there on weekends, none of them stop at the red lights and many club rides on Saturdays frequent there especially a certain large club with marshalls ans they also don't stop. I confess I also don't stop going down to PTA if it is safe to cross as it is a 3way intersection, I never skip or cycle through a traffic light with an intersection. It is breaking the law I know, but have you guys thought how many of you break laws during the day? Hopefully all traffic related though. ...no one is perfect......no one

Can't really compare it....climbing not as tough if any climbs to speak of besides the one before half way and the one with 10km to go....what hurts is the non stop pedaling and the drags with the corrugated road in the last 25km. Very enjoyable race!!! It will get real hot on race day so prepare with proper nutrition and hydration

On Racetecs website Burger is not listed as being the winner, strange though I thought it works no chip no time no result?
