  1. That is an incredible achievement! Well done to them
  2. Why would you want to avoid hills, nice light gear and constant cadence will give you a good base? Plus training on only flat roads will be super boring....well for me at least. How long do you need time wise to train?
  3. Compact is 50/34 and only benefit would be if you are struggling to ride a good cadence with a 54/39 it would help, climbing wise it would also help but you can sort that by going with a 28 at the back if need be
  4. Nice hope it does not clash with another major MTB race again like the past couple of years
  5. So if you don't reveive a medal anymore what next will be on the complaint list? Take away the goodie bags as well as they mean nothing! I think to make a medal has a cost of between R5-R10 for the finishers so doubt whether not handing this out will make it cheaper. Why does one person who complains so much about the cost of races not organise a dummy race for us just so that you can compare costs a bit?
  6. Why does it bother you so much? Does it make you feel better posting this OP. Just ignore the item for sale and move on too other bargain buys you are looking for. Some people believe that is what the item is worth and will stick to that price until they realise it does not sell
  7. Stop being difficult and take the warranty. Read your terms and conditions. My opinion if I was the manufacturer would be to only keep black replacement parts in stock
  8. It is a joke at such a short distance, the win wont make many waves through Europe. Ashleigh would most probably have won if the race was 90km odd as well but the woman need longer races
  9. Will check it out
  10. I don't mind a busy road just as long as it is safe I reckon the roads and public down in the Cape are more tolerant to cyclists compared to the dumb Gautengers up here. We will be riding from 5am everyday so I reckon we will be finished daily before the rush....we are really looking forward to scenic routes there. Weather is also apparently great that time of the year
  11. Cape Town hubbers I need training routes for my 9 day holiday break in the Cape from 21-29 Dec. Would need to be 3.5hr+ routes. Don't mind doing routes 2-3 times. Garmin files would help a lot as I generally know the places around the Western Cape but not the streets obviously. We will be based in Durbanville for the duration of our stay.
  12. Wonder if he will accept cash....meet up and bliksem the daylights out of him
  13. Anybody looking for an affordable alternative to the many expensive carriers out there give Ian at Menabo a ring or order them from Buycycle. Got myself the Winny 3 bike and its awesome and great quality. Top notch service from Ian as well who helped me to swop out a short arm holder for a long one at no extra charge!
  14. Heck this is bad....hope he heals up soon. Another problem that seems to be flaring up with motorists is they feel we should not be training on the roads. This was evident with residents having issues with the Velo club rides going out on Boschkop
  15. Guys you will **** a brick if you know the landing cost of Rudy Project merchandise and sunglasses in SA and it is not only ASG all distributors of spectacles rip us off badly! Try more than 400% mark up!
  16. PB for me yesterday as well...would have loved to stick with the front of A but lost my car keys going over the N1 and had to turn around to go and look for them. Luckily someone picked them up and saw me looking for something....huge thanks to that spectator!
  17. It is terrible that someone just drives away! He should get a harsher sentence, how can you hurt someone whether by mistake or just stupidity and drive away....guilt must kill you. I wish her all the best and a speedy recovery
  18. If you look for something you will find it...to support views, yours is one of cycling the opposite way being the safest. The majority of people on here who cycle regularly will say with the flow as it has worked for years and will continue to work for many more to come. Statiscally more people should be hit by vehicles or have accidents around Gauteng this time of the year as masses are preparing for 94.7
  19. I have set cycle routes that I know are safe by either having a proper emergency lane or were I know the lane is wide enough. If you are hit by a cyclist head on you are going to get badly hurt just as much as with a car physics tell us that. I get very pissed with people riding the wrong way thinking this is better. You reckon you have more time to see what a vehicle is doing? Well I will bet your chances are probably the same with reaction times....there are reasons that society have set rules like this . Anyway does not matter what anyone says seems some minds are made up and just need some reinforcement from others to make them believe they are right
  20. They find a way around this after 3 years trust me happend to me and it was not my fault, they said it is normal metal fatigue
  21. The Advendurance races have got this right so why can't they?
  22. Ah the joys when motorcyclists put on their leather jackets and become bad asses all of a sudden, hope the motorcyclist in the accident is ok!
  23. I still can't see how the race organizers reckon Waterfall Estates and the surrounds can handle that amount of people!
