  1. The section from 1 - 2 is dodge during the week. There have been too many attacks (including a person in our small riding group) and its just not busy enough during the week, Rather stick to the quieter roads.
  2. Lorena Wiebes - Speciality - Winning ......classic
  3. At first i thought this was an easy one but after reading it a couple times i can see how both the seller and the buyer would be right. I guess it could have read Fork with remote lockout but no lever. this assumes that the fork does in fact have the remote lockout top cap.
  4. Rode there today....a welcome change from the usual Spruit ride. Route is marked well so don't worry about the GPX. Enjoy
  5. https://www.like2bike.co.za/asidlale I haven't ridden there but planning to. Friends that have gone say its now marked which is good. From Lonehill also consider going into the Beaulieu area and into Riversands.
  6. Maybe its time for an FTP test......
  7. i try to fuel everything even the zone 2 stuff mainly to train my stomach. Over the last 2 years i have built myself up from one farbar (25g) on a 50km ride to about 70g of carbs per hour. When you using specific product i found proper fuelling got expensive really fast so my latest experiment is 60g of sugar and 15 - 20g of game in a 800ml bottle. Works surprisingly well and its actually easy on the stomach......
  8. For winter i have found Fox and Shift MX tops make great mtb tops to go over your riding top. obviously you can't get to the pockets but i just stop And they are very very good value for money.
  9. Can you please give me a couple names of LBS's that do this as we have ended up buying new 12s xt cassettes when only the bottom 2 are worn.
  10. I've had this a number of times with my 4iiii power meter. I just leave it open for a couple of days to dry out and it normally sorts it out. Hope you come right.
  11. If i was getting a new bike i would only get 120mm travel as i think for general riding its the best. i would buy second hand, go check out bike market, they have a shop near Sandton so you can see what they have. for 40 - 60 K you can get an amazing second hand bike pretty much all the shiny bits you can imagine. make sure you get the right size bike as its so important, try a couple different bikes and if you can one size up. As for buying in the US i would avoid a brand that you can't get spares for here in SA, bikes need maintenance and you don't want to get stuck needing a pivot part that you have to import.
  12. Ok that explains it. thanks
  13. to be honest i have never heard of autosag, please share.
  14. I always loved the idea of bearings instead of bushings.....if i was getting a Scalpel i would keep the Lefty especially if its the new one.
  15. Oh boy, public goals are never good goal 1) try go from 9 hours a week to 10 maybe 11 hours goal 2) ride 6 days a week with Monday as a rest day goal 3) get to 300w ftp by year end goal 4) end top 200 at 94.7 mtb bonus goal) figure out how to coach myself.
  16. Hi I had this once on Fox fork and after changing many of the parts i concluded it was a bent air spring rod. Not sure i was right but it solved the problem. Just out of interest, it you reduce the air pressure to something low does it still stick? and does it stick through the entire travel or just the beginning? Good luck
  17. What an awesome problem to have Drakensberg also a great option: Drakensberg Trails | South Africa Lots of spots to stay all around this area.
  18. Some really good advice above and you have already made the best decision you can, 10K second hand goes far further than 10K new. On size i am the same height and struggled with what size to get as you can ride both. what i found is that at our height a large will feel more stable and a medium more agile.....in general this is true but the frame geometry does play a big part. you are starting out so your skills will be the limiting factor not the bike size and as said above most items like stem length and seat position can be changed to get you feeling more comfy for longer rides. That said i started cycling on a cheap 26er, GT....small. totally wrong but i rode it and loved it as it just felt fun and i wanted to have fun. at the time my view was if i really get into it then i will want a better bike anyway so i chose not to over think it. my 2c
  19. is this not it: Pivot Bolt Kits – Pyga Industries (pygamountainbikes.com) edited: i see now there isn't a one ten option. talk to the guys at sprocket and jack.
  20. Everything from above and add some sweets (jelly babies are great) and some energy bars (Far bars are great) to your pockets.
  21. Mine is also 257, let me try it. what are the rest periods between intervals?
  22. depends who you are i guess, for me thats 8.5 W/kg......i could maybe do 5 intervals like that and then fall over For Zwift I just use the companion app to turn erg mode on and off. decent article on the options: How to Use ERG Mode In Zwift - SMART Bike Trainers
  23. ok lets make it a team of 30 riders. my guess is $15 - $20 million, maybe you have more accurate numbers.
  24. What does it cost to run a WT team of about 10 riders?
