  1. Thank you for the reply...............
  2. Excuse my ignorance here. I checked out the EasyGis site........did not see why: What is the diffs between the Edge800 and the Edge800 Performance Buncle (other than the price)
  3. I'm keen on the event.........On the route map, I see that it goes down Van Reenen's Pass.......is this on the tar road, or off the main road.....maybe the old road??....
  4. I agree......if one is going to allow the ranting of this fool influence your decision....me thinks you have a major shortage of "grey matter"!!
  5. Sorry to go OT..Dangle - who does your ink work?........if you don't mind my asking you.....
  6. Gee - are you looking for attention? Or are you just plain stupid? Wash your shorts and your ass...............or maybe send this question to the Omo Helpline.............geez..some people's children!
  7. Does the "soapy water" not have an adverse affect on the sealant?......."watered down"??
  8. Agree with you on this - an interesting read. Why do those who do believe in a god/bible/religion etc feel sooooo threatened if anyone states something/comments anything in terms of being an atheist or being a "non-believer" of god/bible/religion etc? Seems as if their "faith" may not very strong, otherwise they would not feel so threatened? .........just an observation.........
  9. I agree with the sentiments expressed here about not riding if not entered. I travelled to a mtb event to enter "on the day"...........was not aware that they were not taking entries on the day. It was not as if it was one of the big events, or one of these Nissan events where they expressly said "no entry on the day". Travelled 100 km to the event, presented my moola to pay - "We not taking entries"....I said please - here is my moola - travelled far, can I please enter?? "No entries on the day"..........so, I just rode the event..........wrong/right.........whatever. I wanted to pay. I even said I will donate the entry fee (entry system not open)..refused to take my money.....I rode the event. So - if you want to call me a "freeloader"........so be it.
  10. What a pathetic comment from you Morpheus. Wishing ill or evil or death on someone is not good. edit - Apology noted..........tried deleting my post......unable to.
  11. Rietvlei limited??..........oh......in what way?.....please do explain. No use making blanket statements and generalisations....state the facts and then people can decide for themselves. I have ridden at VG's on a number of occasions, as well as at Rietvlei......each have their own positive and negative points. To say Rietvlei is limited is quite a statement without providing facts.
  12. Yo Ysterkas - apologies if this has been asked/answered previous.....is the 56km a double lap or one single loop?
  13. If any experienced cyclist (by this I mean someone who is not new to cycling)can honestly say that it is not safer to use a helmet than not use it - then, maybe the helmet laws are meant for people like you. Personally - I have had a number of tumbles - and on each occasion been thankful that I had a helmet on. Also - not just for when falling. Especially mtb'ers - riding off-road, your pip is saved when taking knocks from potruding branches/trees/rocks etc. Yes - someone here has said you may be take extra chances with a helmet.........I kinda disagree.......when you are tired and not "focussed"........riding under branches and taking an unexpected"knock" happebns all too often. My opinion - it is a "no-brainer" (excuse the pun)to wear a helmet when cycling.........my 2 cents worth....
  14. I big thank you to Jonene and Neville from Linden Cycles for excellent service. The bladder from my Camelback had sprung a leak................these bladders are advertised as a "lifetime warranty". Without any issues, they replaced the bladder by giving me a new one - and they will do the warranty claim with the relevant supplier....no waiting by myself for the supplier to make a call on the replacement...........thank you for this great service!!
  15. Fruity-son (sorry - you leadinbg with the chin here)........seems as if you want your fruit-cake, with cream,.....and...you want to eat it. There are plenty things in life that many of us cannot afford....vote with your feet...in this case...with your money. Many have stated that the Cape Epic is VERY expensive, however, it is over-subscribed every year..... Sani-2-C....some say it is very evpensive...however - the waiting list to get in is longer than my......leg........
  16. This is sooo true. I assisted with the Logwood Classis which took place this past Sunday. Most people have NO CLUE as to the effort that goes into organising a race. My logic is a simple one: if it is too expensive - do not enter.....end eventually the relevant races will fall off the calender. But - expensive is relative to whoever the person is.......I've heard people complain about the costs of things, but if look you will see this same person has "top of the range bike; kit; equipment"....etc. If you cannot afford something....you miss out....end of story.
  17. I have deleted most of the comments of Intern because it is quite a long read - you can read it in the post previous to this..... I concur totally with what Intern says............... I was once a "Proudly South African". I voted for a true democraty on the '94 elections, as well as the referrendum prior to that for a real democracy. After the '94 elections, I was very optimistic for the future of this country.......but, sadly, this hope has slowly been eradicated by the goings-on and shenanigans of this government and the whole of the ANC for that matter. I have given up hope totally on the future of this country........if I was financially able, I would leave this place NOW. I have been to other countries, and we as a South African nation deserve to have the same as these countries 'cos we are tax payers who should have what we pay for. I am tired of living in fear. Unfortunately, the young in this country only know the current lifestyle we have here. They do not know what it is like living in places like Adelaide, Perth, London etc.........where you get what you pay for, where there is law & order, where people have respect for the law, where you do not have to live in a virtual prison to feel safe at home.............I could go on & on.............sigh....to win a huge lotto would really help.........
  18. When people say "The grass is greener on the other side , because there is more "***" there".........is a very narrow minded way of thinking......ever thought that the grass is "greener" 'cos people work to make it green??!! I am a very patriotic SAFFER, but one cannot deny the fact that in places like "AUS" as an example you used, people get what they are paying their taxes for??!!...........visit a place like Aus (Adelaide, Perth etc) and one cannot help but be impressed with the fact that things actually work there........one feels safe there, one feels more relaxed there. I am really fearful for what the future holds for us, especially the minority people. The "grass" here has been totally detroyed by the frikkin ANC, and as has been pointed out, the masses will continue voting for these idiots 'cos we as a society have not got the voting maturity to look beyond color and vote those who want to govern FOR THE PEOPLE, and not for themselves. If I had the opportunity, I would leave today still, not wait for tomorrow.

  21. Can you provide more details of this incident??...I ride on this road often.
  22. I use Maxis CrossMarks...........don't ask me mileage, but I do know they are giving me good distance. I commute +- 41kms p/d.............all on tar. Get a couple of them via CRC................ps - check that the customs okes dont overcharge you..........
  23. I did not mention the word dumb, but since you ask........remember, you asked........................I think you are dumb - you old fatass.
  24. 'Toppie (Big H) - the question was about LBS - Local Bike Shop...............you now want to place your "rulz"..... Ask for the criteria, but the original post was pertaining to LBS..............unless, of course, you don't know what LBS stands for.......
  25. Results are up on the J2C - Bieliemielie site
