  1. Man way to cold for me! I have to say respect to the top 3. Some serious miles already put in.
  2. Hi. Yes, recording Strava and Endo on phone. It seems to be working. Seems like it is a go!
  3. Hi, it looks like I will manage. It seems I need to start Endomondo first and then Strava. If Strava is on and I start Endomondo strava stops for some reason. I will know in the morning!
  4. I have joined. Now to see if I can upload after my first commute this coming week.
  5. I would like to join. How do I link my strava to Endomondo. I tried running both on my phone, but one would stop when I start the other. Thanks
  6. Glass, there seems to be more after every weekend. Have had the experience of a 2 week old tyre destroyed by glass. Luckily it was only a block from work and I managed to find the last 700x40c tyre in the whole of Polokwane. There is only 3 bike shops, 2 half decent, the other more for commuters and kids bikes. Seems to be getting worse, like the bottles are getting babies! Good idea to ride a new route before you actually use it for commute! Enjoy
  7. My commute is the only thing that is keeping me sane. Work stress under current economics getting hard to handle. Positions are not getting filed witch is putting higher workload on me. I am in retail and December is just starting. Feel your pain. Just keep riding!
  8. Wow, one lucky girl! Nice job!
  9. Started cycling when my wife got a job. She works out of town and had to do a detour into town and back out to the plot. We only had 1 vehicle then. Takes about 30% longer by bike but the benefits to training and general mood makes commuting worth it.
  10. Lucky lady. Hope she enjoys it!
  11. Still waiting on Quote!
  12. I can do with a dual suspension. So it is done!
  13. When you leave home a bit late, you really put the hammer down. Did my 16km commute in 34 minutes this morning. Managed to somehow get all the robots green, witch is a miracle, was an awesome ride in.
  14. Keep eyes open for the double cab brigade. Especially Ford rangers and Hilux bakkies. Almost got taken out twice today on a straight gravel road wide enough to fit 3 cars side by side. I was riding on the side and still had to go into the bush on the side. One Ranger must have been doing close to 130km as it came past me. I have both a flashing red rear light and a front light. Makes a person wonder.
  15. Thanks DJR. Kondisies was taai. Dink nie ek was al so koud op n fiets nie!
  16. Did the Magoebaskloof MTB Classic yesterday. Was very very wet and muddy. Took me over 5hours to finish the Marathon with 3 falls. Made a very stupid error that I only realised more than halfway into the race. I had my fork locked out from my commutte on Thurday and never unlocked it. Silly me!!! Still came second in the sub vet cat and 10 overall. Super stoked! Also managed to get my Limpopo colours. Overall an awesome day!
  17. Did my longest ride to date today. Some gravel grinding around Polokwane on the Bergnek and Geyser roads. In total did around 110km.
  18. 1.76m On a Momsen Large.I am also on that awkward height between M and L frames. I find I most often prefer a large. My commuter, Fuji CX frame is a 58cm but it is ever so slightly to big.
  19. Need to start putting some money away. My al329 have had a hard couple of years. Time for an upgrade for next seasons racing!
  20. Been of the bike for a week now. Upper respiratory infection. First sickness this year. Also started using echinaforce a few months back. Seems to help as I would normally be the first one to get sick in the family. I also appear to have gotten better faster as it is normally 2 weeks min. Will hopefully be back on the bike tomorrow for a easy commute. Hope all get better soon!
  21. Love this thread. Some very nice bikes! Busy getting my Fuji CX frame built. If all goes well should be done by next weekend! Heres to holding thumps!
  22. @Dusty. Was that pic in Zululand taken between Melmoth and Vryheid? My sister stays in Melmoth! Looks very familiar!
  23. Found this thread and really liking it. Really need to do a trip. I have just gotten a gravel frame, though it is still with my cousin. Need to build it up. Earlier in the tread someone mentioned the Ivory route in Limpopo, may need to look into it. Been to the one in Mafefe when I still had a 4x4. Certainly doable by bike. My dad was involved with setting them up in the late 90s.
  24. Finally getting a gravel frame. Thanks Peds, taking his Fuji frame off his hands. It May be another month or 2 until it is ready to roll as I must still source some wheels and shifters. Budget spent for this month.
  25. Will keep an eye on those frames! Need to build a gravel bike at some point!
