Confirming my point then...you have to pimp the Momsen to make it softer on the eyes.

Do not know about issues regarding rubbing against frame...think it depends what tyre you put on because it is quiet narrow at the back between tyre and frame. The guy is on Swalbe Racing Ralfs and no problems about rubbing. No bike gives you better value for money that the Silverback...weight and parts! XT is currently you most popular groupset in terms of durability and braking P.S. - Momsen = butt ugly bikes

Silverback Storm with FULL XT is the best specced bike for the price. Really a bulletproof bike, most brands advertise their bikes as an XT spec bike but then it is only the crank, rear derailluer, and brake levers. Think the Storm retails for around R27500...my team mate at this years Epic rode the Silverback Storm with no issues.

How great was our bike marshall!! We rode in A-B long route, had a guy on BMW and scooter, when we got to the Silos road and started to pass the short route riders this guy did not even once force a rider back into the white line. He saw that we needed some space passing the slower riders, by forcing the bunch into white line will cause a crash or nasty incidents. Riding his bike in front of the bunch warning oncoming motorists, no problems, just a guy using his head. When a hill (blind spot) approached he went next to bunch to make sure everyone was inside the white line. Was really a pleasure riding on Saturday!

I can see by your response you know what you talking about... Anyway...Been on XX1 for a few months and love it. Still riding on my original chain gear ratios is perfect, running a 34 blade in front, gives me very similar gear ratios as my 2x10.

Guys....I know that you (people living on the hub) believe that every shop, person selling, supplier is against you. No one...I mean NO ONE are allowed to make a profit the way most of you going on about prices. It is a business, to make money you have to add some $$$$ on items. Still love you all...peace!

Do not shoot me for my opinion but this is not just in Froome's case: Funny that a person trains his ass off, work himself up in the ranks, spend his own $$$, no support from Africa then when a guy makes it big the country wants to take credit. Did CSA or any Kenya federation helped him regarding his training or support to go and race overseas, nope!? At least SA got good coverage from him and his performance!

What works for me is riding back to home after a race. This gives you a very intense long ride, you need to have a few of those if you want to race DC.

I do understand but roadies is different, you just cannot do "the same" for roadies. A few examples: Most guys will freak out if they have to leave their bikes overnight in a bike park Canot stay in a tent I need transport to race everyday from my B&B I want full road closure If I do not get these "basic" things I am not willing to pay more than R500...

MTB'ers willing to fork out 4K for 3 days....roadies....willing to pay R500.

Not a forced stop....you have a 30min buffer if u wanna stop grab something quickly then it is cool...if u want to stop for 30min and chat to the wife...also cool
