  1. Thank you - I don't think I've achieved a 5 laughicon* response before. (*Would like to patent or copyright this word but don't imagine ever using it again).Thyolo2007-07-23 08:04:42
  2. I think you'll find that "Rasmussen" is an anagram of "I'm a doper" in Danish.
  3. Windy, Call his bluff and ask him to make a bank transfer instead of waiting for the pedals. What a sleaze that guy is.
  4. It's a problem innit? Test positive for testostrone and get dropped by the sponsors. Test negative and get dropped by the wife.
  5. Really nice ride and great to meet the Colnago quads.
  6. Well, thanks to dumb motorists and a couple of dress rehearsals recently, I do know what my last words (um word actually) will be if I'm ever killed on the bike. This gives me time to work on a longer, more inspiring, parting shot to the world.
  7. It's a Bobbiedazzler
  8. How they getting it to stand up? .....and where's the couch? Looks fake to me
  9. Will call you next time for riot squad contacts, but will first have to build a canteen for strikers to occupy.
  10. Thanks Nomad, I'm going to Harare next week for a bit of sanity.
  11. You mean riding into a fan wind on your IDT doesn't affect your speed? Next you'll be telling me that switching to a lighter carbon frame on the trainer makes no difference to performance.
  12. Been thinking some more about the fan debate and the effect on power levels. If you have a fan blowing at you hard from the front, your power reading will go up for the same effort, as your bod is operating more comfortably. However, your speed will go down for that same effort as you're now battling a headwind?
  13. I think a bee stung him on the hand, cos he was waving it about and seemed to be going into spasm. Probably saying something like "Oh dear, where's my anti-hystimine". Absolutely fantastic performance, he's shown this week, he's one of the world's best sprinters.
  14. How does the power comparison look on the flats and downhills? Oh, in answer to the thread's original question - I think Phil and Paul have got a good handle on the riders' indicators including power. They were reading off and interpereting no.s this afternoon quite comfortably.Thyolo2007-07-11 12:09:56
  15. MichH your mailbox is full So, thanks for your post - am back in the land of the functioning adult now, thanks to IDT.
  16. Trying hard not to give the workplace away Frosty but it's between Wadeville Rd and Dekema
  17. In the words of Thyolo Oh cr@p
  18. In the words of the Beatles Let it be
  19. Hi BikeMax, wheels are great -thanks Does it matter if no fan leads to lower power readouts - is the effort being put in not having the same effect as more power with a fan?
  20. So, you're feeling undecided about this one BigH?
  21. Wadeville They were striking since Monday and it was all quite jolly, getting a little less happy Tuesday and definitely on the turn when I came to work today. Filling most of the road they waved me through but others were being blocked soon after. About 30 in the group - so not huge, but they generate a very unstable energy.
  22. Work finished early today when strikers killed a motorist at the end of our street. The business is in a cul-de-sac so we spent some time unable to leave the buildings. The black office staff were especially worried but we sorted them out. The killing was caught on video and was being shown in the office but I didn't want to see it. Should be useful for police and employers to identify those involved. Seems the motorist - a manager in a nearby firm might have bumped a striker or remonstrated or suchlike. Next thing, game over. Am not used to this sort of thing, esp. as we see these guys every day and straight after they're back to singing and marching. How's this cycling related? I get more time on the IDT today.
  23. Why do you want to "Rant 'n Rave" about it?
  24. Thanks Jason, you've made a happy man very old* I've got a power reading on the IDT and 240w is hard work - 85% or so. Your no.s are not so far from mine so I feel better now. *Or is that "an old man very happy?" Thyolo2007-07-11 06:43:13
  25. In the last km the breakaway guys seemed to slow right down and look at each other. This made me shout at the telly "GET GOING THEY'RE BEHIND YOU!!! Much to the disgust of 14yr old son. Anyway, does anyone know why they did this? Did they have no chance, is there an arrangement between teams? It really looked like they could have made it.
