  1. Seems to be a common occurence as of late, seems people are quite tightly wound overall. Combine that with reading for reaction and not understanding and we have a winner. *CPT surfer/Enduro bro voice*, not us from CPT though, we are living the slower life here...
  2. It's only Wednesday and there's an early Friday thread already... Dealt with CCS a few times and have nothing but pleasant experiences to report back. Maybe you just aren't used to the way of business in of "slaapstad"? [Note the italics, indicating sarcasm.]
  3. Nothing can help what comes with the silly season unfortunately... Bright flashing tail light as well...
  4. Has been patched already, earlier today you could see the entire member profile. ID through to medical aid details, and it was not secured.
  5. Have you scanned the QR code to view the jumbled text? The text that was supposed to show the members emergency contact details and details...
  6. Maybe chat to @Jono(hopefully the correct one). He can cnc machine them from aluminum, as he does with the Garmin and varia mounts.
  7. Agreed on most points, but there are service providers in South Africa, that are relatively speaking much much cheaper than the competitors based internationally. Absolute hosting being one, with the option to scale services up at a 5/10 minute time interval and downgrade at the end of the month. Seems that the DB couldn't handle more than about 20 simultaneous connections, which as you say is server capacity, or a very poor architecture (form over function). A few things about the new site that still need to be improved upon and completed. Taking away the option to get your bread and butter money though was never a good idea. (Also why was the site not put through a round of user testing, to ensure all processes actually performed as expected?) Multiple failures to implement standard practices...
  8. Any ideas on what's happening with the @tygerbergmtb website? Trying to renew our memberships and database connection errors are persistent...
  9. A lot has to do with the recent release of prisoners at the end of October... (Think someone else mentioned this as well) Durbanville and the Northern suburbs have seen an increased presence of criminal elements as well, not just a Table Mountain/Southern suburbs issue.
  10. And no media manager, that R400 would have been better spent on a media manger me thinks...
  11. They do enough to ensure bones are broken, enough said. That said, R208 a day is a measly amount of money. No wonder they are always a bit grumpy.
  12. Park Rangers and SAPS have had a big presence there recently, or so I have been told...
  13. Sorry to hear that! Hope he recovered! (Not cycling related completely) Having stayed in Pretoria for studies, I can say that Pretoria (Hatfield, Brooklyn and Lynnwood) are not as safe as they once were. Recently a friend's house in Brooklyn was broken into, early afternoon, held at gunpoint , all valuables and car redistributed... Know of a few other stories, but generally not pleasant... There is a whole carte blanche documentary on the night life (link) in Pretoria. Also highlights how little the police are willing to do, even going as far as declining an interview. From a cycling perspective in Pretoria, I have found Lynnwood road into Graham road and down to Kitty Hawk airfield to be relatively safe and a lot of other cyclists are out there too.
  14. For XCO and XCM, is 160mm not a bit excessive for those disciplines?
  15. WTB or Raceface should have what you are looking for, going to be a little on the heavy side though. Evobikes have a sale on WTB at the moment. https://evobikes.co.za/product/wtb-kom-tough-i25-rim-tcs-29-32h/
  16. Finally did the Horst link on the Pyga, very impressed with how it turned out
  17. Something that doesn't come with a lifetime warranty I would guess... https://www.sram.com/en/zipp/campaigns/warranty
  18. Merlin cycles in the Uk offer very good service!
  19. 1x snapped/broken spoke and you are looking for a new wheelset...
  20. The tech worked well at SA Road champs in February this year as well, same temporary numbers etc... No issues with people being missed during checkpoints, start and finish, then again that was a different timing company...
  21. Anything specific as to the issue with results or just their services in general?
  22. 4iii issued a statement, if I remember correctly. Surprised Stages hasn't said anything on that front... https://4iiii.com/press-releases/shimano-safety-notice/ Now this begs the question, does one take the risk and buy a second hand crank based power meter?
  23. Ah sorry to hear that man, heal up quick! Hoping you will be back on the bike soon!
