  1. Would be interested to know how these guys are carrying a G19 or the likes while cycling, and not having it print in toight lycra...
  2. How did the moonboot work on a spinning/IDT bike? Did you have to make a few adjustments?
  3. So I shoudn't be riding 60mm deep sections, is what I'm hearing?
  4. Don't mention the big vehicles with big fuel tanks, it may upset some people in another thread.
  5. Hoping everyone is good! Was travelling back to CPT on Sunday Evening, early hours of Monday Morning, and I have to say that having driven in some very very hairy conditions, that weather came close to topping the list. I can understand why the destruction is as bad as it is in places... Thoughts to those affected by this disaster!
  6. Just want to point out this is already being discussed in these two threads...
  7. Or a proper road bike for that sub 3:30...
  8. So 2025 is on the vintage road bike then?
  9. Sure with all the exotic bikes Morne has he could find one that is a bit more practical...
  10. As good a reason as any Enduro rig on Maxxis DHR and DHFs just for the extra traction on chappies? I like how you roll
  11. SS, why? Or should I not ask... Also entered.
  12. Yeah, 100g on a 16kg bike and a Buffalo weight class rider, it's going to make no difference... I've never had an issue with the board thing you mention either, just hang the board on the brake cables on the front, helps to keep them tidy as well, or on one side of the bar. 3D printed mounts for your number board also exist, or are they also too heavy? Surprised we haven't petitioned TBMTBC to make more aero friendly number boards
  13. Backwards Garmin mount is a new one, may need to try that at some point!
  14. Would like to see them write a ticket for a cyclist in SA, I reckon it would get interesting very quickly... Also wouldn't something like an ID number be required such that they could address the ticket to your person? Otherwise you could just be 'John Doe seven hundred. listen properly. and sixty nine' In theory yes, bicycles are supposed to behave like vehicles on SA roads, so that would include obeying the speed limits.
  15. At that price just head to Merlin and import an entire groupset and sell off everything that you don't need, or if you want to keep your current levers TRP makes a dual action/sided mechanical disc caliper, I have listed them below. https://www.merlincycles.com/trp-spyre-flat-mount-disc-brake-caliper-99225.html https://www.merlincycles.com/trp-spyre-slc-flat-mount-caliper-102422.html
  16. I'm venturing a bet at around R17/18kish... Without a certain importers tax that is... 105 R7100 - Bike Radar
  17. Yep, an everage ride temperature of 30°C on Friday would confirm the heat up here... Wishing for some more winter about now.
  18. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? Looks like a bit of a mashup between two other locally produced framesets?
  19. Trying to fit a micro/compact (Ford fiesta) between two well parked Ford Rangers, is like trying to fit a 750D wheel into a standard 29'er frame, possible, just takes some persuasion. Side note, we are seeing more and more SUV's/Bakkies on the roads, and manufacturers such as Ford have almost all bit killed off their small car segment in SA. Fiesta has been discontinued permanently, Focus set to be discontinued in 2025. That leaves the Ecosport, but even that has been discontinued, leaving just the Ranger, Mustang and the Bus type vehicles in that range... Is this a consumer orientated and justified play, or just Ford completely relying on bigger vehicles to make their sales margin and forcing it on the customer?
  20. At what point does a wheel become too big? Assume we will get newer geometry to accomodate the larger wheels?
  21. Affordable outdoor's website is back again though?
  22. Was going to say that I was looking at their "products" this morning, thanks for the heads up. There were a few positive reviews from a few hubbers if I remember correctly? Never had a good feel from the website.
  23. Source? Zinn cycles? I will be sticking with 29" for the foreseeable future and 700c for the road bike, don't see much point in going larger...
  24. I agree! 60mm deep wheels (404 FCs) are a bit much at times up Durbanville way. The front moving so much is a bit unnerving. If I were to do it again, I would do a 45/60mm combo...
