Ferrari B-team imminent lol. Its obvious now, Dallara wont be building the 2022 HAAS chassis anymore. It will be a Ferrari/Maranello designed HAAS branded kar lol. Now Mick’s placement at HAAS makes sense. They are even moving Jock Clear over to engineer him. Now just get kimi in the second HAAS car so Mick can absorb his awesomeness and we have liftoff!

In an interview with Binotto last week he said that ever since Mick joined the Ferrari driver program the plan was to have him in a Ferrari in 2023 and to join F1 in 2021. He also said that it isn't confirmed but if he(Mick) does what is expected of him at HAAS in the next 2 years then it will be official.

This isn't the full interview but gives some insight.

And there I thought this year couldn't get any worse...

Me too !   As long as Verstappen or Vettel (or anyone else for that matter) kick his butt next year then it would be worth while  :whistling:

See there a bit of controversy around this as he does not live here and contributes zero in taxes. His knighthood came in an indirect manner. First time for a sports person this way.

Things aren't really in Lewis' favour. Merc can get another driver for cheaper if they want someone to win more championships - Russel proved that.

If Lewis wants to win more championships he will have to be satisfied with a lower income. He probably has enough money for several lifetimes already.

goed so , a good chuck of f1 fans will welcome Hamilton's early retirement so he can go do fashion or whatever.

George has become a massive bargaining chip since his time in that car , maybe these talks wouldn't even be on the table if he ended up winning in Sakhir

Yes very sure.. bojo bent the rules here. First time a sports person has been knighted this way. He has been knighted as a foreign resident. None of the others in the picture were honoured this way.

Damon Hill lives in surrey, not 10 miles from my spot,I cycle past his house regularly.

But he’s still British? They play the anthem on the podium :-)

Considering his achievements knighthood was inevitable don’t you think? I’m surprised it’s happened so early perhaps.

I have no qualms with him being knighted, he probably is as deserving , if not more so, than others that have received it in the past. Not only for his endevours on the track but also in his personal capacity with BLM etc. ( and no i dont agree with them but he is an ambassador)

He should have declined it i think. That would have made him truer to his environment and his beliefs. But thats another story.

Tax status is quire important in awarding of a knighthood and this is the sticky area where Bojo bent the rules for hamiltons award.

But he is deserving of this.
