And tastes really good over a medium wood fire with just a pich of salt and cracked black pepper...

I am not a big fisherman, but 2 years ago I went with my wifes family to the Seychelles and we lived on a Yatch for 2 weeks. I lent an old fishing rod from one of the Islanders and I managed to catch one of these beauties. One of the nicest tasting fish ever

Does it taste anything like marlin? I think I ate marlin every day when I was in Mauritius.

Yeah, they're family and have a cousing called swordfish too. <the latter is king when steamed>

 

I prefer sailfish, there is really no real taste difference that I have detected, perhaps only a finer textured fish to marlin.
