(my cousin), first SA cadet on the Esmeralda.Small world, yes that's him. He taught the Spanish speaking Esmeralda crew to sing Daar Kom Die Alibama in Afrikaans on the way here, and that was what they did when they docked in Cape Town.....with one or two off key bits and all. It was quite a sight to see the ship enter Table Bay and Cape Town harbour. We're old friends of his Cape Town family and I do recall that his father is from your neck of the woods. His sisters' boy is my god-son and he's at least as naughty as his uncle FvR was in his young days.
