Didn't know that wildfires were considered awesome, but you learn something new every day...

 

I found something that is awesome about this....check how calm everyone stayed. Till now only one road accident happened too. Can you start to imagine what a mess something like this will be like in SA?

My brother and his wife weren't together when the evacuation started, he was just outside the town and could not get back in to help his wife and daughter and she had to make the choice to leave their dogs behind too (they took them over from SA when they moved there) while she grabbed a few of their things. So when she eventually got to him outside of town they abandoned their one car too and headed for Calgary, about 750km away which took them over 28hours to drive due to congestion etc etc.

Jeez that is crazy.

As you say, it's amazing how well people are behaving.

Hope it turns out alright for your family members (and of course the rest of the people dealing with this too)
