Evening people.

New to the hub , fairly new to mtb. And having loads of fun.

My condolences on joining the hub. Soon symptoms will begin to appear, including but not limited to: upgradetitis, drop in work productivity, Friday rages, and many more. Quit while you're ahead!

And sometimes the Hub has a few glitches......you post and it does not show.......don't worry, reformulate your post and try again.....eventually it will show. Remember to take screenshots as backup.

Hi there! I am new to TheHub. I am actually busy with my Bachelor Thesis on the marketing of MTB events and trails on social media. I am busy with my research now and need mtb cyclists, preferably ones who know of the Lebanon MTB trails in the Elgin Valley (Grabouw), to help me out! I am a little desperate. I need 150 participants for my research to pass for my bachelors of Communications. I hope some of you guys will take the time to fill out my questionnaire. If you are so kind to start, please complete it, otherwise the results will be useless to me. Thanks in advance! Not sure this was the right place to post this, but as I said I am rather desperate at this point.

PS. We are picking one participant at random to win a free Family membership for one year to the Lebanon trails mentioned before.

Here is the link to the questionnaire:

How's that working out for you boet?

Filling in forms is some kind of cruel and unusual punishment, isn't ti? I think you'll need more than one post to get the Hubanistas to give you enough time in the day to fill out a questionaire....

Ah, I see from your website you're a Kirsten... So, not a Boet. Sorry.

Mijn nederige excuses.

Anyway, I completed your questionnaire because I was rude to you in my last post. But bloody hell, it's long.

Veel succes met je scriptie.

Hi everyone

Picked up this thread and thought it might be the best place to get my cycling knowledge off the ground. I'm a fitness freak, traditionally focused on strength, running and swimming, but given the Ironman bug has bitten me, I need to jump on a bike and start what I believe is pure joy.

And that leads me to my next question, what bike?. Seems the decision is not as easy as what I would have thought, but I have done plenty research, viewings and test rides and have come up with the following shortlist:

  • SWIFT Carbon Ultravox
  • Pinarello Marvel
  • Merida Reacto (stock is an issue)

Components (Ultegra 11) and the pricing are pretty much identical.

Would really appreciate the communities feedback and comments regarding this, as I need some experienced advice, or any other advice for an extreme newbie such as myself.

Hi everyone

I am sending this on behalf of my wife, who has become a dedicated, but somewhat slow cyclist at this moment and wishes to hook up with like minded, and at this stage, somewhat slowere cyclists to start out and enjoy a ride at the Cradle, preferably on Sunday's.

Any groups willing to take on extra rider(s)?

Posted

Hi all

I ride on Saturdays at Cradle with a bunch of mates and enjoy 70-80 KMS, on Sunday's, however I like to do some TT biking, training for Half Ironman Durban in August. I like to do about 100kms in 3 hours, good training ride.

Are there any group(s) that go out and do this, any group I can join?

Regards

Alain

Hi to all

You know when you have slipped into a room at an event where everyone knows each other except you, and after a while you have been there long enough for new people to arrive and they introduce themselves properly? Then you feel you've been there long enough to be "part of the crowd" but too embarrassed to admit you're still "a noob"?

This is a lot like that.

I'm in the Western Cape where the concentration of MTB trails are the highest, and surprisingly ride a mountain bike! Venture onto tar from time to time to have an interest and respect for roadies, but a budget which prevents further exploration.

Those who know me personally know what I do for a living, but which I prefer not to divulge on a public forum. All above board though!

Happy riding and racing!
