Weight Weenie Posted June 7, 2011 Share THE is nice and bling, I know BBB makes a cheapy as well that looks/works the same. Only used mudguards once, in Dullstroom when I was in a proper thunderstorm. Worked like a charm ! Bought them for the Isuzu 3 towers and never used them but was money well spent. Look at these Topeaks if its reall wet and muddy http://www.topeak.com/products/Fenders/DeFenderM1_M2_Set R500
Caerus Posted June 7, 2011 Share I used to run front, downtube and a rear mudguard(kinda looked like a skinny motor bike) while commuting. I took it for my first ride at Giba ever and was laughed at by my mates and have not put them back on again.

AndreZA Posted June 7, 2011 Share Spotted this for Lefties on Dr Cannondale: http://www.cannondalestore.de/SHOP/200/SKSSI.jpg Why can't you just use any of the other that attaches via an expander plug in the head tube?
kosmonooit Posted June 7, 2011 Share Why can't you just use any of the other that attaches via an expander plug in the head tube? It's a 1.5" steerer tube - not sure what else is going to fit
Moolz Posted June 7, 2011 Share I grew tired of having my water bottles full of mud/sand...Fitted a The mud guard - which works well..Doesnt ever stop the dust from settling on the water bottle nozzle - nothing practical can help with that... But we are MTB'ers after all...the elements should only aid in our perseverance...

Hairy Posted June 7, 2011 Share if you get one - THE is the ONLY way to go! The downtude ones are nice and small and unobrusive ... I use the proper THE fender that bolts into the underside of the steerer tube when it gets muddy http://www.the-indus.../TLFCCF-01.html Likewise, work like a bomb. I just need to pop in another star nut to the underside of my new forks steerer for me to bolt / screw it on as the rubber bung on mine is missing. DMC007 Posted June 7, 2011 Share With all due respect that rear mud guard really looks wrong I agree, it does look somewhat wrong. What I did was....cut a bit of the length OFF and now appears to be more in proportion with the rear wheel.

Weight Weenie Posted June 7, 2011 Share It looks terrible I know, but definitely beats having grit sprayed up your shorts in a ride, also keeps the stuff in your pockets clean
Grebel Posted June 8, 2011 Share Why not use up all those old tubes you got lying around? Cut a template like this: Attach to the crowm and arch with cable ties. An inexpensive one of these: Keeps the mud out of your eyes.
